So, 3 articles on the KIA naming rights but not 1 mentions how much they paid for that. Very annoying.

I don't think it's been disclosed, but Mastercard pays $525,000/per year for the Mastercard Centre.

Even with Adidas cash from the league, and cash from Kia, it's a pretty big investment from ML$E. One thing they are doing right.

MLSE knows how to make money and knows how to attract money to it's properties.

What they don't know how to do is win at the actual games they have teams involved in.

Even more annoying is the total lack of details involved with this press blitz.

"Kia is proud to partner with Toronto FC to provide a revolutionary environment for young players to train"

Explain how?

"Because it's revolutionary, and didn't exist before"

Sooo how's it different from everyone else's training facility?

"Because it's revolutionary!"

It's kind of a revolutionary business model. FC Dallas is expanding their youth program from 2,500 to 5,000 kids largely based on league direction in order to achieve its goals with the Adidas partnership. Adidas will now get access to a growing stream of kids and as they expand, MLS will get more money.

What will be interesting is to see where TFC-A fits within the new Ontario Long Term Player Development model and the new OPDL league set to begin in 2014. Any insight on that one?

That is largely true. They know little about sports and have a strange take on "entertainment". I always thought the "entertainment" part of their name was a dead give away as to their dubious aspirations (and limited talents).

Anselmi ducks a perfect opportunity to show support for Winter by showing zero support and worse leaving the speculation in limbo....pathetic...

Alright It's official Lads! Maro opens at 4 o'clock for the Canada vs USA pre-match and we'll be marching at 6:15! We're working on getting at least some hotdog carts or summing outside for eats! Plenty of Canada swag and beers to get us ready for a celebration a century in the making!!

CanWNT just played a friendly vs. China, warm-up for the Olympics. Game was held in Moncton. Captain Canada (Christine Sinclair) scored in the 94th minute to give them the 1-0 win.

I couldn't find a stream, but apparently the game wasn't very good for either team. More improvement required before the Olympics.

I caught like last 15mins and Canada was all over the place. couldn't breakdown disciplined Chinese defence and vulnerable on counter. Canada is so a one trick pony of Sinclair

I think this needs its own thread as from this interview Anselmi had the opportunity to make his thoughts clear about the coach and purposely avoided the question and left it vague, to give MLSE options by not committing either way and trying to present it as if they have the fans in mind - pure crap as far as i am concerned - pathetic on his part

either get behind your coach or do something about it.....

Tommy is a survivor. He survives by avoiding committment, opinion and positions at all costs. Take no chances and venture out on no limbs. Ever.

Embarrasingly Successful is what he is.

This is being merged, it won't get it's own thread, just continue the discussion in here.

This news does deserve its own thread though.

Not sure why the mods always want to bury discussion.

This is true to a point.

But I do remember when he promised TFC fans the best FO in MLS.

Too bad TFC fans haven't held him accountable to that farce. We're too busy defending the slow build of 'total football'.

ok - not sure why as to me it seems to be a specific and unique discussion when you've got the top dog unwilling to make a commitment either way of such significance to the organization - but i'll go with the flow...
