Everytime they pass it to the right wing, the man there seems to always be unmarked. Wynne is somewhere deep in the center and has to run back just to put a foot up to try and clip the ball out for a corner.

Is this some sort of tactic Carver is working on or is Wynne just that terrible with positioning?

Unfortunately it's the latter...I've been harping on about this for weeks and we were brutally exposed again tonight down that wing. The problem is that Marvell is such a threat going forward that no one seems t ocover him- luckily he runs like shit off a shovel and makes it back mostly, but his positioning is truly appaling.

btw nice avatar - the lad seems to want away from Citeh tho'

our d is just shit....marshall giving rolfe a week to tee up that shot...
i think mo should try to get conde from chi.
i say the rights to mcbride and marshall for conde and 1 st pick.
teliby and conde in the middle, velez and marshall are to slow to react to plays....

I think it was JJ not Marshall who gave Rolfe and acre to play with.

I'm not confused about Wynne's defending... it's been quite clear to me since we signed him that his defensive abilities are awful. That said, he poses such a threat going forward, so what do you do? It would make sense to play him as a winger, but when Mo did that a few times last year, he wasn't effective for some reason. I'm just wondering if his defensive brain farts are becoming more of a liability than what he offers going forward. Tough choice for Carver....

Wynne is still young enough that you can beat these mistakes out of him. But he needs to do so as soon as possible. Do we have a coach on staff that can help him? I don't think Carver is a defensive specialist.

We need some one that can teach our boys to defend on an individual basis and as a team, it got better under Carver but we still make basic mistakes to often. The top three concenrs for me are, positional play, clearing, consistent marking, and we too often look confused in the box. [ Although I would rather not see the ball in the Box as often as we do]

No doubt Carver's ragging on him for it...I mean, it's gotta stick out like a sore thumb on ProZone (the computer match tracker thingy)

Carver blew the game when he failed to put in a conservative 5-4-1 after the team scored the equalizer. He has done this often, and the other teams exploit it. Carver is as much to blame for the loss as any player.

Trane, I'm worried too... and you talk about your top three concerns. I feel that there is ONE major concern - and that is our inability to close down players. There is too much backing off the ball, and it's not just our defense... our strikers should be putting pressure on their defenders, midfielders should be in the face of the opposition and the defenders should NOT give 5 yards of space to someone anywhere NEAR the penalty area.

I have never seen suck laxidasical play in my life. It's too bad because we have good players.
