As always, thanks for the news D!

From the Kurtis Larson article: Frankie Hejduk is going to be "brand ambassador" for the Columbus Crew. Sounds about right.

TFC fans want wins, not friendlies (http://www.torontosun.com/2012/04/19/tfc-fans-want-wins-not-friendlies)

This is kind of amazing how quick they picked up on this. It was a hint of a rumour for a couple months, more likely for a couple weeks and a "for sure" thing this week before it was even announced. I'm not happy with meaningless midseason friendlies but I'm pretty happy at how quick this has been noted.

MLS is talking goal-line technology. Given the quality of MLS refereeing, this could only be a good thing...

if it's only goal-line technology, then it wouldn't help the horrible refereeing in MLS... how many goals are debatable over the goal line in a season versus how many goals were scored off-side/called back while onside/etc etc

Rogers, BCE set to divvy up MLSE broadcast spoils:

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-investor/rogers-bce-set-to-divvy-up-mlse-broadcast-spoils/article2408175/

There are tens of millions of advertising dollars in play, because each game comes with the opportunity to sell commercial time. And while a Thursday night game against the Vancouver Canucks may be a certain ratings hit, somebody also has to fire up the broadcast trucks when the Columbus Blue Jackets come to town.

There’s nothing fancy about how they will set their schedules. A coin flip, or some similar game of chance, will decide who gets to pick first. Then each side will take turns picking the games they most desire – Rogers will show its matches on Sportsnet, while Bell Media will show its on TSN. They’ll need to repeat the process for Raptors and TFC games.

It should be interesting to see which broadcaster gets what.

MLS should focus on the quality of officiating and employ goal judges if they are worried about wrong calls/fairness on the occasional goal line discrepancy. What's next, TV timeouts?

RE the article "TFC fans want wins, not friendlies" from Kurtis Larson/The Sun -- yes interesting that they picked up on that so fast, and I do agree with the sentiment.

However, it's VERY strange that the headline writer puts the fans in the headline, and Larson also writes "As TFC remains the only pointless MLS club ahead of MatchDay 7, the backlash from supporters’ groups has been marked." But then he doesn't say where he got that fan opinion from (or even what type of "backlash" there has been; he only quotes a few TFC players (who of course have to be diplomatic regardless of what they think); and he doesn't seem to have interviewed any rep from the supporters groups to get their opinion. Or if he did, he doesn't mention it.

I want Winter to be right, but I also want humanity to come together to fix global warming. As nice as that sounds, eventually you have to start planning to live in an underground bunker during the everlasting global heat wave. We’re getting closer to that moment at TFC. http://blogs.thescore.com/footyblog/wp-content/plugins/wp-spamfree/img/wpsf-img.php

I'm getting tweets that Koevermans is in street clothes today. Apparently got inured yesterday at practice. Dark cloud over TFC continues.

It's a Kurt Larson Article. He has an ear to ground in the supporters boards. Not the first time he's done that.

I don't get posts like this. DK was the form striker when joined us last season - basically scored a goal a game and was unstoppable at times.

A few slow games after pre-season and suddenly he's a pie-eating mishap who cannot score in a shooting drill?

It baffles me how quickly people turn on our players. What exactly are we "supporting" here?

hmmm let me see..6 yrs and $10000 later of shit soccer,no goals in 3 home games all packed in a month with shit weather.
the bulk of his goal were in junk time,no pressure games.when we need him the most he cant hit a side of barn, other then that im happy.

That was the worry of course, an injured DK and a suitable backup, looks like it will be Johnson, Plata & Lambe up top. dark cloud is correct, sheese.

If Larson is pushing MLSE on our behalf, then it's much appreciated. Though he should be VERY very careful with any sort of broad conclusions or cohesive thoughts or arguments coming from this place.

We are the angry mob, we read the papers everyday. We like who we like, we hate who we hate, although we're also easily swayed.

That's not even kind of a little bit true, if there were such things as meaningless goals (which there's not) most people would be hard pressed to point to ANY of his as such.

* of his is 8 league goals last year, only 1 was when tfc was already leading. 5 came in games when we tied (of those 5, 3 came as the tying goals) and 2 goals were both scored in the same game (a 2-1 TFC win).

It's easy to run your mouth about our players without facts.

I had no idea Koevermans was responsible for the weather, forced you spend $10,000 and was here for 6 years. I also remember seeing a TFC goal at BMO this year, were you there?

9 goals in 15 games for Danny K, despite a slump of 1 in 5 to start this year. Pretty happy with that choice.

Perhaps Reggie just misses another player who isn't scoring either but is apparently making some nice bicycle kick passes.

Very interesting indeed.

I will always be in the camp of those who want to watch good soccer. I want results too but not if it means watching a garbage product.

That may fly elsewhere but this country NEEDS to change their philosophy on what football is supposed to look like. Do that and the results will come.

As for TFC...if they scrap the idea of cultivating players that can play an attractive, possession styled game...I'm gone. Flat out.

If I wanna watch kick and run, slide tackled filled soccer I'll go watch the Robbie Tournament this July LOL

TFC is sticking up with the plan to play an attractive, possession styled game, and head coaches in the future will be only the one that can coach that style.

Winter is feeling heat right now, but he is still safe and once he is gone replacement is already here and his name is Thomas Rongen and not Mariner like bloggers and journalist are writing.
TR did not come here to be Technical Director of TFC Academy,FFS he coached 4 MLS teams and won MLS Cup '99 before he coached US U20 in 2 U20 world cups and now he is here to be TH of TFCA and TFCA U13 coach, yeah right.

So can I say,see you at Robbie to watch some kick and run soccer.
