During the first month of the 2012 Major League Soccer (MLS) season, Independent Supporters Council (ISC) members are taking a stance against racism in recognition of The International Day For the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (March 21).

Supporter groups around MLS are raising red cards at games in displays of unity against racism and bigotry, bringing fans together to celebrate the diversity in North American soccer. The ISC hopes that all MLS fans and teams will recognize this International Day and the fight to eliminate racism.

As members of the ISC the Red Patch Boys will have a banner hanging from the Capo stand during the duration of the game against Columbus this Saturday (April 4) to show our support and unified stance against racism and prejudice in the sport.

Soccer in North America has a dynamic and rich history that is multiracial and embraces the strength that comes from its diversity. The history of soccer here is unique, and the ISC advocates for continued inclusiveness amongst all players, supporters, and management. The ISC Charter commits its member groups, now numbering 29 and together representing fans of 17 of MLS' 19 teams, to "oppose racism and bias in all forms, whether from supporters or from team management."

ISC - The Independent Supporters Council of the United States and Canada was founded in 2009 to advocate for the fair treatment of home and away supporters, promote supporter culture, and oppose racism and bias in the stadium. The ISC membership includes 29 Supporter Groups from MLS, NASL, USL-Pro and PDL clubs.
