He's a good young keeper, I remember watching him during the MLS combine.

Very smart read of the game, still raw however, needs honing but in extreme cases he can definitely handle 15-20 minutes near the end of the game, or start if Kocic is red carded or something.

I think Toronto FC need to take a serious look, however, at FC Edmonton and Canada U23 goalkeeper Michal Misiewics.

rules need to change, were academy players are allowed to play in official matches.

Im sure winter was more willing to use roberts, but then found out that he has to be signed to a first team contract.

This player pool crap is non sense

Is this something that can be deemed as playing a player who is not eligible to play in the Champions League. Kinda like FC Sion's fiasco?

Well he was dressed last night, so I would assume that means he's eligible in CCL play.

Brian is #41, Roberts could have dressed for the CCL but not in the MLS without first signing a contract. I wonder if the reason for signing him being a short term fillin did not fit for him as he has college options for the fall. He could do what Stinson did, play the college season and them return to the Reds in January as a homegrown signing. By using Rowe they do not take a cap hit.

I get that it would take up a spot and mean allocation money lost but Roberts wouldn't go against the salary cap (because he would be the 21-30 spot area) do you think that they are running their salary THAT tight that they can't afford to lose 35k of allocation?

I may get lynched for suggesting this, but I have never heard of a broken leg being "A-OK" in 10 weeks (I am sure I will hear of someone's cousin who recovered in days but really...) Frei is out for the season, can't they buy him out with their own money either as a 'Short Term Injury' or 'Season Ending Injury' and not use salary cap money?

What I REALLY don't get here is this: Does he still count as an international on our roster even though he isn't really on our roster, we are paying him out of TFC/MLSE coffers. Either way, can they in any way get around the 'International Signing Deadline' thing? Not that there isn't talent in Canada & the USA, but there is MORE talent if we can go anywhere in the world to find a keeper and didn't have to stick to our backyard.

Guess we will get to see Rowe play tomorrow in the reserve game after the TFC game...
