The academy is probably the brightest part of the future for the club and the future of Canadian football. I truly hope it becomes a proverbial factory of football talent. It would be a dream to have the next Messi come from TFC and its a fair dream to have considering how quickly Canada has rose in terms of soccer profile from the dark ages towards a cusp of a relative golden age.

The Star has got a 12 page TFC pull-out section today.

^ I was just about to post the same thing.

CAN SCORE: Through two proven threats (Ronald Koevermans and
Joao Plata) and two emerging ones (Ryan Johnson and Luis Silva).

I believe his name is Ronald, though could be wrong, and Danny is his middle name.

EDIT: i'm pretty sure I just made that up, because I can't find a source for that at all.

I'd cut the guy a little slack, if he screwed up an academy players name, but come on that's just sad!

I think Kelly forgot the part about Frings being sidelined 4-6 weeks.. maybe he wrote this before that.

We are getting this guy? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Koeman

Ronald Koeman? At 49 years old, he'll still tear this league apart.

To be fair, the club has had scorers over the years. Danny Dichio and Dwayne De Rosario, the Reds’ all-time leader in goals, could find the net. Same goes for Amado Guevera, Chad Barrett and Maicon Santos.

I would never consider a striker who played as much and got as many chances in front of goal as Barrett a "scorer". It's little things like this that I still get frustrated with and the reason why I go to the bloggers for my articles.

The Toronto Star has a special section about TFC in todays paper. Little Red is quoted and pic at the top of page U9. Some of the stuff was written around the time of the LAG CCL game, so I'm not surprised that there are things that have happened since (Frings) that haven't been picked up.

Still not a great fan of Kelly, though. He's been hunting to try and get back into the soccer side for a while.

Extra spacing below is due to the bottom of the content area on the right lining up with the bottom of the user profile areaon the left.

When we remove the post count field, the extra space will decrease to line up with the new profile section height.

What is the best way to get to the moon?

Change into a soccer ball and get Chad Barrett to take a shot at goal.........

Interesting tidbit from one of those Star articles:

Lake effect – The irrigation system for the grass pitch has been converted to run on water from nearby Lake Ontario rather than the city’s drinking water.

So I guess all the run-off sewer crap after a storm will get placed on our field? Could be good for growth! ;)

Star article on page U8 by Daniel Girard makes a point that TFC may play 52 games because of Concacaf Champions League still having a prelim series and four team groups
BUT the generic article beside it outlines the end of prelim series and the new three team groups. Only three inches between opposing paragraphs.
