Luke Wileman is saying Caicedo was released by the club. Looks like our CB problems are still not over. Hope Cann is close to being ready!

If they don't think he's good enough, glad they cut him now. Let's hope they have someone else to bring in.

Blue Jays home opener a couple years back, at least 6-7 beers hit the turf - number of articles on it, zero...

TFC game, one beer equals articles, debate, discussion...

And honestly, grow a thicker f*cking skin Beckham - picking it up and showing the referee "...they're being mean to me..."

Grab it, toss it aside, and get on with the game...

Football players are living up to their North American reputation of being babies. Complaining about chirps from fans, making a spectacle of a empty can hitting the grass - it bloody embarrassing...

Should that stuff be thrown? No of course not, but man up on the pitch - it happened, keep going...

Same thing to be said for the fans who are crying "...Beckham rubbed it in with that celebration..." Oh grow the f*ck up!

If you can't take it - don't dish it... You hurl abuse at a player all night - be ready to get it back if he bites you in the ass, its a two-way street...

Everybody needs to man up these days...

Agreed. Although from one preseason game, that's hard to tell. Perhaps the injury he picked up was more severe than reported.

I for one hope to see Williams back soon too (along with Cann). I think with Aceval and one of them (whoever gels better) our backline will really be solid, and then Frings can move back to mid (despite being pretty steller as sweeper).

I'd like to see Henry given an opportunity to make an impact at CB. It looks like he really bulked up in the off season.

Hey, at least it wasn't bags of urine or a dead chicken or something. Sure, the person who threw it was an idiot for doing so, but come on. One of the biggest nights in our history, and the media have to focus on that crap.

Maybe that's because fans acting like yahoos at Jays home openers has been par for the course as of late? :noidea:

Best thing to do - NOTHING...

Ignore him completely. He says this shit to draw attention, emotion, and reaction... The moment everyone stops taking the bait - he's done...

He wants to see an abusive banner at BMO about him... He wants his producer or intern to read these boards and tell him "look how fired up they are', he wants the reaction... Give him nothing - and he has nothing...

Guys like him are dinosaurs anyway.

They will all be pushed aside by what is inevitable anyhow.

Soccer is growing and growing and nothing he says can stop it. He'll be irrelevant soon enough.

It's sad to hear that had difficulty, hope he does better in the future... Though it was clear to everyone that he was either hurt or not adjusting well.

True. But it would be so much fun to see smoke coming out of McCown's ears and to hear his head short circuiting over the growth of soccer in Toronto and Canada.

That's pretty good, considering the match was up against the Leafs vs. the Penguins on TSN.

I could care less about McCown. It's all a part of his schtick anyway. Although calling fans who went "morons" is perhaps one of the more idiotic things I've heard him say.

Bob McCown did call us idiots for going to see this game, I get it that he hates the sport which I have no problem with, hey I'm not a baseball fan I just can't get into it but all power to those that like it,however, I don't think people that like baseball are idiots or stupid. We must keep in mind that McCown has a radio show that relies on people listening, so anyway he can get people all fired up he will find, and his soccer hating character is one that does this so he keeps doing this. I also think he is also a little jealous of the growth of soccer in Toronto and upset at the unfortunate decline it seems of the CFL in Toronto, the CFL in terms of the Argos is going through a bit of a tough spell with attendances at Argo games, however, the TV numbers for the CFL and Argos are still quite decent and I would love for TFC to constantly have the TV numbers the Argos get, therefore, I sense part of McCown's bitterness towards TFC is this Argo thing too.

Lol...one of the comments in the Warmington article calling us the "Red Zone Guys", haha.

I believe the reference McCown made was why so many people would go to see the equivalent of a Jr. C hockey game, and called us idiots for that. Hey, if watching the likes of Frings, Koevermans, Beckham, Donovan, Keane et al is the equivalent of Jr. C, I guess I'll watch Jr. C any day. What an idiot.

^Ugh thank God for internet radio and podcasts. I never have to listen to local sports dicks again. I'll let them catch up with the worlds sport and when they do I might give them the time. As it is I have no desire to wait for a mention of Saccer or whatever demeaning thing they'll start calling it when it rivals the rest of NA sports...

I like McCown because he's very entertaining during the long drive home from the office during rush hour. However, he's totally clueless when it comes to football, and his attitude is just part of his shtick. I don't think anyone should take his comments seriously.

McCowan provides no insight into anything. He waits for his guests and co-anchors to provide insight, and information, then he simply reacts. He adds nothing really.

Compared to Stephen Brunt, this guy is a retarded parrot. No really... a parrot... that is truly retarded. (I hope I di'dnt have any speling misteaks in thsi rant)

Started his career doing play by play for an NASL team in Miami. Probably became anti-soccer to try to fit in with the baseball dudes and has now painted himself into a corner.

Fuck the "beers on the field" for the jays games, there have flat out been BRAWLS on the 500 level during the home opener. Really savage shit. If anything half that bad happened to TFC they'd be Having debates at city hall about outlawing the sport.

As usual, two separate standards between sports. The media can reason that everyone rioting in van and mtl "aren't real fans" but we can't get a pass on one fucking beer can?

Look the media here in North America is always waiting for any little thing to happen at a soccer match so they can pounce on something they can exploit and make bigger than it realy was so they can say see I told you so soccer crowds are dangerous and unruly, however, we all know that worse things have happened at events like the Jays home opener but the media does not make a big deal over things that happen there, you know what soccer is growing every year here in Canada and we should all give ourselves a pat on the back for the amazing event that last Wednesday's game was, it was simply one of the best atmosphere the Rogers Center has ever seen congratulations to everyone that played a hand in creating it, a job well done people lets all take a bow!

The reason as to why they cut Caicedo lose, is simply because he said he missed family. Sounds cheesy right? Well hes from a Latin family and hes only young, so I get that, family is a very tight thing over there. This reasoning was sent to me.
