Hey guys,

I had a chance to attend the Toronto FC food tasting yesterday.

Here are some of the new menu items at BMO Field, including a revolutionized Chip Butty!

Can someone tell me where this food is actually served at BMO? Every year I hear about these "fancy" new items on the menu and all I see is pizza and hot-dogs.

The hotdogs are near the south stand, there will be a taco stand on the north west of the stadium.

There's a map now too.

probably can't go wrong with the poutine dog

oh i just noticed it's a butty. they need to add a hotdog to it....to keep the curds melty of course.

Meatless options, I approve.

Armen, is the gravy on the poutine dog veggie friendly? (Mushroom gravy?)

ArmenJBX

I know the bean tacos, chip butty original, and buffalo chip butty are vegetarian friendly, as well as the pierogi. I thought they had meat in them but I was made aware that they are vegetarian so that's being changed in the article.

I will ask about the gravy. They didn't specify that it was mushroom gravy which makes me inclined to think it's not, but I'll double check.

Blood pudding that is awesome.

Currywurst will be tried.

Poutine Chip Butty is the best idea ever

Little unsure of the BLT Dog, everything else looks great.

SHIT... none of this will be at Rogers Center. How am I supposed to watch a game without a beer and a Chip butty or scotched egg.

parsley and garlic have no place on a chip butty, but that poutine one looks pretty sweet. why's it in a hot dog bun though?

ArmenJBX
03-01-2012, 11:03 PM
Because it's better that way! :D
It's not a hotdog bun, it's this italian bun that's been cut down the middle, kind of like a Subway bun.

are they still going to have a smokes poutine truck?

Not to be the biggest dick in the world, but if you're vegan, mushroom gravy is not always so.

I only say this because my vegan friends would want to know...

Yes, as well as a taco stand, a donut machine and all that other fun stuff :D

it won't be better, sure professionally prepared it works, but when it's being mass produced by minimum wagers, they'll mess it up, and you'll just get a hot dog bun with a bunch of fries on top of it, barely even inside the bun and it'll be chaotic and messy and you'll lose half the fries trying to put it together. Pretty much exactly like it was the last time I tried them there a couple of years ago

consider me sceptical.

The Poutine Chip Butty

That looks like the next step for Smoke's Poutinery.

Those look like fresh cut fries, which would be a huge improvement over the last time I ate fries at BMO Field, which were frozen.

why don't they bring back the corn/watermelon slices they had during the WC at BMO? i know corn makes a good projectile, but good god it was delicious!!

I think they should embrace...

Large Beer Funnel Deal!
Fully funnel large beer = half price...
Spillage, spit up, or stop = double-price...

They'd more cash in total throughout the stadium - but experienced booze-bags like me would save mad cash!

Of course the "drunken stupidity level" would go way up! That wouldn't cause any problems, would it??? :D

Is BMO Field the only sports venue you have been too? Newsflash Beer and Food is overpriced in every sports venue.

standard stadium prices. best stadium deal I saw was detroit lions, all you can eat popcorn 5 bucks, all you can drink coke, 5 bucks. Sadly no all you can drink beer option.
a pint at BMO is not that much more expensive than at the pub. As for food, I just generally dont enjoy stadium food and prefer to wait to hit island foods after the game.

Blasphemy!

You shall not blasphemize against garlic as such! It...um...uh...strikes you down with...the fury of 10,000 suns! Yeah...10,000 suns. :D

how about adding more beer variety so people dont have to smuggle in Cans of Guinness or has that been solved?
