^ i realize that it's just an analogy, but it's a kind of gross one when you think of it.

Kurt Larson has some good insights from TFC's camp.

Likes what he sees from Aceval.

I'm really concerned with the lack of preseason games. Every other team has already had at least one scrimmage. TFC has nothing scheduled until February 25. LA meanwhile has 5 preseason games before their version of the Disney tourney.

I'm hoping Winter's preference not to play against MLS sides doesn't hurt this team. They need at least 3 or 4 matches before Feb 25th and hopefully we see announcements about those soon.

Here's a link to the show last night.

Hearing this gives me confidence that both Mariner and Winter are changing the culture of TFC for the better (then again, couldn't get much worse!)

Kurt Larson says that Winter is trying to schedule in another pre-season friendly.

Goff interview with Charlie Davies. I don't like the twat, but man, does he sound a bit like a whiny baby

That's an interesting article also for what it says about the coach of DC United, Ben Olsen. He was new, I know, but to have no plan for a player except "get [DeRo] the ball, just make crazy, deep runs and stretch the defense to have space for him" and "make something happen"... well, that sounds like Olsen's over his head.

Bob Iarusci sounds at least confused, if not concussed.

Let's keep in mind what Peterson had to say upon departing TFC... and many others.

Hell hath no fury like a player scorned.

Obviously they have to be right. And those that have discarded them have to be wrong.

His interview with Dero was atrocious. I could hear him licking the sweat off of Dero's balls as he gurgled questions about how he could possibly be so great.

I mean, Dero is probably the best Canadian player to not perform for Canada (before you jump down my throat their were a lot of penalty kicks earned by someone else), but will appropriately go down as one of the greatest MLS players and Canadian players to date.

However, do you not have an obligation as a reporter/journalist to be objective? Never mind the over indulgence of ego, but shouldn't he at the very least attempt to entertain the fans with some semblance of moderation, or even slight, or perhaps even better... some insight?

well, I doubt Davies is lying that he was told to just run around out there and that the whole strategy was make room for DeRo, even if he comes across as a baby for talking about this now.
Sounds too specific to me.

The Reds who were dumped complained, but they never said Winter was just sending players out on the field and telling them to make things happen or run around. I think Gordon's criticism was quite the opposite.

And honestly, watching DC United, I didn't see anything particularly special in the way they played as a group. Ben Olsen just had De Ro do everything. Doesn't take much of a coach to do that.

I'm still waiting for proof that Olsen knows what he's doing.
