^That might explain why Leiweke was so smug about the fact that he was going to re-sign Beckham. I wonder if Beckham would have forfeited whatever "rights" he has to own a team by leaving. Who knows how that provision works, but it could be incredibly valuable. The last team in before he signed was us - we paid $10 million. Now the going rate expansion fee is $35 million.

He said the same thing about wanting to own a club in american when he retires in a BBC World Service interview he did a few months ago. Seems like it is more than a dream.
