I guess now he can't be placed on a plaque on the "TFC Ring of Honour". We will have to wait until he's dead to give him the post-humourous honor.

Wish he was on staff here, but great for him and couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Post-arm bone honour?

Impressed that he chose to stay in MLS, I'm sure he could have got a coaching job at home, at some level.

Shows he likes life on this side of the pond, even though his experience with Mo was something awful.

He loved Canada and wanted to keep his fam here. I'm thrilled Robo found a way to stay in country.

Congrats, Carl. I hope that it works out for you.

And seeing as the weather isn't much different from his home, with way better air... Vancouver makes sense.

I'm guessing he would have preferred to come here but doesn't really fit the same play style as Winter/Rongen.

I'm from Europe (I'm Hungarian from Transylvania), living in the USA since 2002, US citizen since 2008.
I lived in Toronto for exactly 2 years of my life (May 2001- May 2003).

Guess what?
I never liked it in the USA, and I loved it in Canada.

I would go any time back to Toronto, even though I did not keep the connection with my old friends there.

I have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering back home, which of course worth nothing here, because I did not finish in the USA... so I have a shitty job like a factory worker making $16 per hour (working on laser cutting machines and table saw and chop saw machine).

So if any of you guys can find me a job with equal pay at least in the Toronto area, hell yes, I would go to live there any time.
I heard it's a lot easier for US citizens to get a work permit in Canada then for Canadians in the USA...

I'm happy for Carl, he is a true professional in every sense.

Hey man, thats not so shitty. Be proud of what you do, put in the hard work, assimilate to your current city, and good things will happen.

I know its an old cliche, but my dad worked in a factory before unions and labour laws made it safe, which was sadly better than his child labour work in 1960s Portugal, he moved onto construction, then on to restaurants......now hes very well off, more than I will ever be with my degree.

Point is, you create your own opportunities. And never egt caught standing still.

He was more than an OK player, he read the game well, anticipating an d distributing so effectively that he was often not noticed. He was the " engine room " and I am sorry TFC lost him

Class act but I will always remember him for the worst goal celebration in TFC history.

^ the reverse windmill celebration! What goal was that on? I thought it was hillarious in its awfulness.

Good luck Carl... probably the worst move ever made by TFC to part ways: we needed the class around the organization

I was sad to see him go but strictly from an economic and on field POV, it made sense. Remember, over the next two years he only made 12 appearances for RBNY.

His body was done.

The guy could have contributed so much off the field ... now he is a asst coach at Vcr. Its still a big loss to the organization...

Yep. Surprised TFC didn't make a run at bringing him back in a coaching capacity, but then again, I suppose it's not tenable for the team to hire any and every player that ever had fan appeal, right? haha.

Loved Robinson's hard nosed approach to the game. He was always quick to get in someones face if he didn't like a challenge. I never saw him back down when he played for TFC.

Good luck Carl. Nice to see guys staying and making a career in the MLS.

does anyone have footage of him coming on in that game? One of those rare moments in football I've experienced twice where the opposition player gets a standing ovation from the home crowd
