Hope he lands somewhere decent. It didnt work out for him here, but he still won us the Canadian Championship, otherwise we wouldn't be having a match in Skydome.

I didn't mind Yourassowsky. I thought in that first home game he was hard done by the ref to get that second yellow for being too slow coming off the pitch when it was clear there was a pretty bad tackle done on him.

After that I will admit he was into the theatrics too much for my liking but that is to be expected of journeymen players like him. I liked his speed and versitility.

Such is football, all the best to him and thanks for that important goal :D

It's hard to be excited about the prospect of competing with NCAA for players. I can't see a player giving up a free education for the slim chance to make 40-100K in MLS. The upside is just not there yet.

If there was someway to hold on to Yourassowsky I wish we could.....although he was dramatic he was very versatile as well. I wish him luck in landing somewhere else.

I wonder if we were looking to trade Yourassowsky before the preseason, now that part of the season is over, and we found no adequate offers, that Yourassowsky was let go

this. i remember the first game i saw him playing on the wing, he was fast but i found he went down far too easily. i dont think he was used to the physicality of the league, it's a trope i know.

some of the challenges people could make on you here would never fly in other leagues.

Trope on, brother. trope on. It's a trope for a reason. He got a reputation in record time, for me. He had a spark but couldn't string enough together to contribute as much as we required.

Yeah, trying to see how that case will be made to top college prospects. It will take some Academy products getting signed to big contracts either for MLS or overseas to provide that example, to make the risk of going that route favorable compared to college/superdraft route.

The article basically says LA is the shoe in for the Club World Cup so why even bother play the game? I love being the underdog especially when we get a result like we did in Dallas. Let's go TFC...I want to party that night after a victory.

The Academy is more talented players and are mentally serious about football as the rest of the world is. Taking the NCAA route is for the average joe blow player who has less than a 50% probability of making more than 100k in his MLS.

Playing in the MLS for these players is viewed more as job that pays more or about the same as an entry level job in the everyday world for a typical average graduating student.

That's where TFC has to accept players who want to become professional football players rather than players who want to go the NCAA route.

It's a cultural shift that has to be made and one that takes time.

The funny thing it's probably just as hard to get a scholarship especially if you're Canadian as a) there are limited number of scholarships available for schools to use and b) it costs more to bring a player out-of-state, out-of-country than it is to bring in an in-state player.

I won't miss his theatrics, that's for sure! It wasn't that he didn't like the physicality of the league, it was his rolling around 10 times on the floor like he had been shot in the nuts, then jumping up and sprinting off like nothing ever happened! We complain enough when opponents do that, so its just a little embarrassing when one of your own players does it!

that's exactly what i mean. in other leagues if a player goes in with a rough challenge, a person can drop to the deck and start appealing for an oscar. in the MLS a ref would look at a challenge and go "he didn't break your leg, come on, get up".

i think he just got so used to winning appeals previously that he thought he could do the same here, and when he couldn't it just looked sad.
