The Supplementary draft is the equivelent of the third and fourth round draft picks, where Toronto FC once picked up a young Ecuadorian winger by the name of Joao Plata....... :D

Evan James, who is listed as a forward but can also play midfield is originally from the GTA and the only Canadian left. It will be interesting to see if TFC pick him up.

Pretty much a no brainer after the combine he had (2 goals and an assist playing on the wing and at right back), if he was American he would have gone in the 2nd round

Montreal needs at least one more Canadian to meet their quota. They only have Bernier and Sutton right now. If they sign James then that's it.

James also has the best shot at getting a contract with Montreal than any other team.

Travis Clark:
Ivo could be a steal. He's an international though, don't know what TFC's status is with those.

I wonder how many (if any) of these players will be playing for the first team ever?

Will any of them join the academy?

We selected 4 players last year, nothing came of it. Two went on to play for NASL teams.

Probably too old for the academy.

Rounds out the preseason training teams. Always a chance somebody could catch on but unlikely.

In case you missed it: The Red Bulls drafted one of the Sons of Ben today. Now THAT is how you troll a rival.

Christian Barreiro is the player in question.

Hopefully Paul Mariner has successfully identified another Kheli Dube:

^ we can only hope.

BTW When Kheli Dube played for the PDL Michigan Bucks, I saw him play many times. Monster of a player at that level. Unfortunately entered the league bit too late in his career I'm afraid. He'll get some playing time at Chicago but not a lot.

Arthur Ivo is Brazilian but pretty sure holds an American passport so he shouldn't be an international player

Video of Mykel Bates: http://www.mlssoccer.com/video/2012/01/11/mykell-bates-santa-clara-d Looks like a speedy right back.

The first round of the supplemental draft where we made two picks would have been third round of the SuperDraft last year (when we drafted Plata) so who knows if one of these guys catches on.

Ives liked a couple of our picks:

Toronto FC built off its strong SuperDraft by adding even more well-regarded talent. After landing Luis Silva and Aaron Maund in the SuperDraft, Toronto grabbed 2007 U-17 World Cup standout and Santa Clara right back Mykell Bates and Southern Methodist attacking midfielder Arthur Ivo.
