Portland gets 5 home games. Seattle get 4. Looks like the league is rewarding the teams with the better supporters.

Overall:

LA - 7 NBC games
NY - 8 NBC games

Less than I expected for those 2 teams. But what would you expect from a US league. I'll be interested to see when the TSN / Sportsnet schedules come out

As expected.

Why would NBC want to come here? The team lacks a marquee player, and other than this recent CCL run, hasn't really been a force on the field.
Plus, while we have a great in stadium experience, it doesnt really come through on the tv, unlike Portland. But, that is mainly due to the budget tv broadcast crews.
I'm suprised NBC even bothered to show one of our games.

Eh, not a big deal. These games should be trying to grow the sport in the States, so Canadian teams are not a priority. I guess since our teams have good fanbases we got a couple games, more than I was expecting.

I imagine MLSE has a bit of weight considering our attendance has been in the top 3 every year we've existed. (#1 Seattle, #2 LA).

Does anyone in Canada even carry NBC Spots Network?

Is it carried terrestrially in the USA?

I seriously doubt "Rogers" sportsnet or "Bell" TSN would allow them to bring an american sports network to your cable box. We may get a few simulcasts.

They aren't. They are showing one of Chicago's games. ;)

Broadcasters are going to be damned if they do and damned if they don't when they schedule their featured games before the start of the season. Seems to me it would be better to determine schedule as season progresses and pick relevant games to show. Adjust the game times as needed for the time slots, say a month in advance.

FUCK. And as long as CBC doesn't give a shit about soccer I probably will rely on illegal streams for 30+ more games again. :(

Why are we complaining about this? Do you think the average American wants to watch TFC or the Impact? They want to see the Galaxy and Red Bulls.

If they had 1 Galaxy game and 8 TFC games, they would be complete fools. What is good for MLS is good for TFC.

An American sports network will never be picked up here.

Our best hope is that between TSN and TSN2 they pick up all these games as part of their national package.

I have no idea how many games they will be looking to broadcast. They had a good number of games last season.

We don't get this channel in Canada so doesn't matter to me. Bring on more TSN coverage.

Our best hope is that between TSN and TSN2 they pick up all these games as part of their national package.Given that Rogers/TSN will soon own most of MLSE and the structure of MLS means that MLSE effectively has a financial stake in the league, then I expect that it will become easier to find non-Canadian MLS games showing up on TV here.

It is a cable/satellite channel. Was known as Versus previously, before that, Outdoor Life Network. NBCS is on the primary tier, at least for DirecTV (well, not part of the cheapest package but is for the rest). Mainly due to this, the # of households reach of MLS on NBCS is vastly higher than for FSC. Now, getting people to turn it on will be a job for NBCS to make happen.

NBC has also has Universal Sports, which is a sports tier station. They plan on using that as a subsidiary channel to NBCS.

6 or 7 bucks a month is a bit rich for me. That is what I thought I read about pricing.
