Simeon Jackson is quite a story, the local boy from the Toronto area leaves home at age 15 after playing all his youth soccer here in the GTA up to that point , goes to England to try to become a pro player and after playing in all of the different levels of soccer over in England progresses to the top level and now has scored a couple of goals so far in the Premier League in England , great to see a local boy do good, just a great story so far.

What's really good is that he's a Canadian international, not "English."

Pretty good interview with Harry Redknapp, esp comparison between when he played football and now

anyone else puzzled why team is hyping up cann's rehab progress so much
he may not make the squad
maybe they are trying to build up trade bait
what do you guys think ?

Slow time for news so they need something to report.

I'd say it's just the PR side of TFC keeping busy and trying to keep TFC top of mind with regular updates.

I think they're just putting out any tidbits of news that they have available during this quiet time. They know many people are desperate for any kind of team news, so the fact that Cann's rehab seems to be going fairly well, qualifies as newsworthy.

This seems a risky time for anyone to trade for Cann, so I doubt he's going anywhere.

EDIT -- ^ kinda like Suds said... :D

There's already been confirmation that his option was picked up for the season. I'm pretty sure he's gonna make the squad. If he wasn't I doubt there'd be any mention. Take how they're treating decoy and Bouchiba. I wonder if those 2 make the squad or not.

Let's wait and see what Cann can do once he's 100% fit and playing in a revamped TFC lineup first. I'd like to see Frings mentor him.

I seriously doubt TFC will find a CB under 200K that has the touch to play in his system so they've probably come to terms with the fact (as should we all) that they'll have to re-adjust to what is available to them.

In reality all the touch he needs is to be able to pass it 10 yards to Frings.
