Think there is any chance we sell out the Rogers Centre?

Morning D!

So where is TFC playing the CL match?

I hope so but not holding my breath. It needs to be marketed big time to soccer clubs in the GTA and priced right. I know this is crazy talk but $10-$50 max......

Given the rumoured pricing, I think that they can sell it out, or at least come close.

The pricing was the most important decision, if they priced it too high there is no way that they would sell it out.

With right pricing, if they market it right to youth soccer clubs, etc. like Montreal did, I think that a sell-out is a possibility.

I suspect this will be the suggestion made to FO and marketing. As I see it we'll take on the challenge of selling out the the south end with friends and family and the rest of it is up to marketing.

25,000 is not out of the question, that would be a large portion of the lower bowl. .

I fear the sightlines of the actual match will be horrible, having seen amany matches there. . . . . . Welcome Robbie KEANE!!

South end, do we just get the lower bowl, or is the 200 level included too!? Would be awesome if we put together a sick TIFO and made the blue building red.

mornin d

yes lets hope they market to soccer clubs they could sell out no problem with $ 10.00 seats and it would blow la away with 70,000 tfc supporters

Has anyone been in contact with the Riot squad to see if they are sending a contingent?

It seems like the pre-game festivities will be WELL taken cre of by the FO, so effort on our part will be minimal to make them feel welcome. . until Kick off. . then its all out war. . .

FUck landycakes.

I'm glad they took the reasonable approach and took it inside.

If done correctly, TFC can use this as a springboard to a great campaign-long marketing bonanza.

I REALLY want to believe they can do it .... it's just so hard to!

now I wonder what the ruling will be in regards flags and noise makers, such as drums

Interesting interview with Kasey Keller, who puts the lie to the idea we hear a lot that MLS is more physical than European leagues.

"First off, I don't think you can compare the physicality of MLS to EPL. The Premier League is more physical. I think what happens in MLS is that the play is more reckless at times. So what you're seeing is a mis-timed challenge as opposed to just being physical. There's not a lot of Didier Drogbas, John Terrys and Rio Ferdinands in MLS. When you want to talk about physical, look at Nemanja Vidic (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/player/_/id/24529/Nemanja-Vidic)."

like most things it all comes down to price

Pricing will help sell out but I dont think it is the biggest variable.

Hype is what is needed.

Too often, TFC is buried deep on Sportscentre, Sportsnet and print media. If no one understands what the match is all about (or when it is on) even $20 is too steep a price.

Now that Rogers and Bell have a financial interest in the team, the venue and the content, I expect that to change.
