No overseas preseason. Orlando for the tourney and the rest is here.

I think the schedule is very interesting. Didn't Winter once say, he doesn't really like facing league opponents during pre-season? TFC's schedule is arranged to have the fewest MLS opponents, only Dallas, at least during the qualification phase. Whereas the other group has all MLS teams facing each other.

please say we don't have to play the march 3rd date

^Wow, I forgot about that, good point... If TFC is 1st or 2nd in the group of four, they would be playing on March 3rd.

I predict the last game will be all reserves & academy for TFC... I hope...

IIRC the league pushed for participation in the Disney thing.

^ and if Winter calls it a Mickey Mouse league as a result, that wouldn't be so far from the truth... :D

I believe this will be the first time Toronto has not played in Charleston during preseason

That is correct. The Charleston tournament was something that Mo promoted TFC participating in. Last year it was already set for TFC to play. Given Winter's comments on not playing MLS clubs in pre-season, I'm not surprised to see it go.

The 2 years I went to Charleston was a great party and I enjoyed the area more than I thought I would. That said I'm not sure how beneficial it was for the club. Charleston pre-season felt very much like a vacation for the team as well as us the fans. Although there are always a few players on the bubble trying to bust into the team most of the play was uninspired.

Orlando won't change that vacation atmosphere. The Pre-pre-season from last year was even less serious than Charleston. This years Mickey Mouse tournament (I can't seem to call it anything else) is at least bigger but this seems like MLS has stepped in and said " Sorry Charleston, thanks for organizing a tournament but we'd like to endorse a preseason vacation for our fans to Orlando". Worse yet is the rumours that MLS is considering a franchise in Florida.

I am sorry for Charleston if that's the case. Orlando may be gifted a franchise/promotion because of geography, and population distribution. That always works, right Atlanta? Wait, nm Atlanta, right Miami and Tampa?

If Orlando works out then we as a league win but I don't like how they're going about it.

^^^ charleston has three MLS clubs this season as well ( DC, fire, crew), i dont think TFC is make or break for the battery.

No...but none of them can hold a candle to the hordes of fandom you guys brought. Someday, (I never say never), I know you'll be back and I'll get to hear King Dave sing your anthem a cappella. Sounds corny but that's the beauty of a small club, fans have offbeat ideas and they sometimes get the OK. I doubt Uncle Walt will let that happen.

Not make or break this year but I fear that MLS is bigging the Mickey Mouse tourney so much they'll expand it to leave Charlestown in the lurch.

Obviously hope not though.
