What say we try to learn something here?

What interests me is understanding better what is actually going on in the relocation process, and whether there is a shell game going on re what's available for relocation. I am a day one SSH but, interestingly, a lot of people have slots before me (I have noticed this before). I have better seats, and maybe they don't want to make it easy/possible to downgrade (this is my suspicion).

I see a bunch of people have posted their relocation slots in the renewal thread, but this alone isn't useful. I'm going to post my seat level on section, seniority, and appointment time. I'll quote my own post after I go to my appointment, and report back on what was available.

Just curious if you ever joined/split seats that may have affected your priority? If not it may be worth a call to you ticket rep to see what's up. I have reds as well and while I am early (pre-first season), I am not a "day one" SSH.

brought a marlies pack at the end of season 1, for season 2, got a partial pack in 09 to hold my place whil using seasons in someone else's name. eventually moved up to seasons in my own name as of 2010 season, straight into light grey's, section 227, renewed them last year.

my appointment is friday nov 18 at 3:00.

very interesting that we can buy additional seats now at the same time if we want. don't think that's happened before. Not sure if they're just realising it's a smart way to do thing, or it's a sign renewals aren't going well.

I called to complain about my priority in 2007 and got lots of happy talk from my then rep (now departed) about how I was still top of list.

Friday 12 noonYours is the one that seems to stick out. When did you purchase your seasons? 2006? Is it possible that all the Thursday slots are day 1 holders that purchased before you?

Other than that ... does look like they've given a lot of slots to first day holders, and relatively few to those that purchased in 2008, 2009, and 2010 ... does that mean Thursday slots will be pretty empty, and the Friday afternoon ones will be packed?

No, us red seater RPBs are just too busy with our super important professions to post on here. And when we take a break from running the world, we're still don't post because we've got our hands full of prawns at fancy cocktail receptions that you lot aren't invited to.

I kid, I kid. :D

Sec. 224
Bought half seasons in June 2007. For 2008 we were one of the last additions to the SSH list, and were offered only one of two pairs of season seats in the same area - and we grabbed them, happy to become SSHs. That's why we're up in the 200s.
Now, we'd like to spend less on our seats. But I'm thinking our options will be mostly opportunities to pay more just like they've been at past relocations. Or, of course, the option to pay way too much for seats in the North end.....
Relocation: Thursday 7:30.

Or, of course, the option to pay way too much for seats in the North end.....??? Your paying $950 in 224 (or $1292 if your up in Red). The North end (light blue) is only $551.

Maybe slightly OT. I've never been to the relocation event before. I'm pretty happy with my seats in 220, but wouldn't mind moving a few rows forward. Do we have to bring anything with us? I assume some photo id and / or a credit card?

It's not just price; it's value. Getting a cheaper seat in the North end with a shitty view is easy because there's likely to be many available on relocation day. But why would I pay a premium price for a similar view that I'd get in the South end for $361, yet at a greater distance from the pitch?

I had some tickets in light-blue last season (before they got expensive), and I thought the view was much better than the south end. Practically felt like you were hanging over the keeper. The first year it seemed reasonable at medium-grey pricing, but then when they upped the pricing to between medium-grey and dark-grey it was indeed overpriced. Now they've dropped the price to somewhere between light-grey and medium-grey, the pricing seems quite reasonable to me. I'm hard-pressed to find think of a better light-grey or yellow seat ... except perhaps maybe the very front and south of 226, or very front and north of 220.

Agreed, the north end seats are much better than south. Higher up giving you a better overall view of the pitch.

The only problem with the North Stand is the difficulty in seeing the Scoreboard.

although not exactly the new permanent seats , I saw Real Madrid from the soon to be North end and they are a better view than south end unfortunately , if only because of the increased angle and ability to see the whole field easily. I was surprised to find that when in 112 for the Canada game I actually had difficulty seeing corners near 117....if I was in the reds I would definitely consider the north end, but yes my wife would never go for it , because she can't see the scoreboard . alas we are very happy in 111

I've heard nothing about relocation. I probably deleted the email by accident.

I would happily move to better or worse seats depending on location (i.e. I'd be happy to go straight back 10 rows or straight forward 30 rows) but I would not go to the North end or lower bowl in, or near, the corners. I guess I am a location snob.

You may not be able to. The email I got said:

You will have the opportunity to purchase additional Season Tickets during your appointment time. To qualify, please review the following:

There is a maximum quantity of 4 Season Tickets per account, this includes your existing seats.
Supporters and Club Sections will only be available for relocation. (Not for additional purchases.)
Additional Season Tickets will be sold at the New Season Price, for pricing details click here.
Any new Season Ticket purchases at this event cannot be transferred to another party.
I take this to mean that if you buy an extra pair, that they cannot be in the Supporters or club seats.

I take this to mean that if you buy an extra pair, that they cannot be in the Supporters or club seats.I suspect by supporters, they mean Yellow (112 to 119) and not the "supporters" section in light-grey where you can stand (110, 111, 119, and 127).

I'd certainly argue that at the cash register ... but I doubt they'd say anything.

I didn't grab seasons until 2009. I was skeptical about how MLS would work out in Toronto but thankfully I was wrong and it is doing well. I signed up for the waiting list for full seasons the first morning it came out and had half seasons for 2007 and 2008. I was in the first group of the waiting list graduates that they had are got my foot in the door with dark greys in 108. Then I went to my first relocation and moved to 221 for 2010 but hardly sat there because my wife became really ill and we needed accessibility seating. Now we have permanently moved to 214A and are staying put.

My appointment I have is Friday @ 2:30 PM.

Day 1 Season Seat Holder, 2:30 Thursday appointment
Moved from 126, row 12 (medium grey) to 132, row 1 last year

Count me among the small and frequently mocked season ticket holder base in the north end. I've sat in the south end as well and, atmosphere aside, the north end view is much, much better. As another poster commented, you feel like you're hanging over the north end net, have a great perspective on the width of the pitch, and the height gives you a reasonable view of the other side as well (which my medium greys in 126 lacked). I also have no issue turning my head for the 2-3 times a game that I want to see a replay.

At the new price, I think the section is far and away the best value in the stadium (again, excluding supporters sections). I'd encourage anyone that is considering moving to walk over to that north end stand and try it out during the event. I had no intention of moving from my seats last year until I did the same thing and loved the view.

PS Make fun of it all you want, but the cup holders are awesome. I probably had 3 beers a year kicked over in my previous section. At $15 a beer, that's nothing to sneeze at...

The North End is my back-up option on relocation day if I cant get seats in 111 or 110. Is there an area of the North stand that has a cluster of season supporters? I would rather be in the viscinity of like minded fans. I would like to avoid sitting around different casual fans each game who are too busy talking about their job or what Sally posted on facebook than to actually watch and cheer on the team.

Last year this is exactly what the section was - different people each game and lots of talk about what "offside" means (with the group's "expert" wrongly explaining the rules to his 3 drunk buddies that had never seen a soccer game before). To give you an idea of the commitment level, I was the only person in my row that bought my tickets for the CCL games.

I'm guessing it'll be very different next year, though, with the prices lower. That's half the reason I posted here - I'm hoping that we get more dedicated supporters in that end.

Huyton

It sounds like there may be a number of people that want to sit amongst fellow supporters in the north stand. Perhaps moving to the west side might not be a bad idea. Then we may be able to help out NEE with singing and chants even if we have to sit down most of the time.

I also suspect that they may only insist that people sit down IF they get a complaint. If it's only supporters in that section, there shouldn't be many complaints.

douglasTO
11-15-2011, 08:10 PM
The North Stands would be a great cost option if the atmosphere follows the decent vantage point. If you get a number of passionate supporters together than the chanting will come naturally. It sounds like dmacd is at the front of 132 so if I can't relocate to 110 / 111 I have a good option to migrate with a bit of a plan. The top of 109 has a good group of supporters but I can't stay there based on the pricing.

Word on the street is that 127 will probably have some seats available. I'm considering moving there myself if I can. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I heard that there was some changes to NEE and/or 127 as of the end of the season. Not sure what that is going to do for support, but situations can always improve and they've had a pretty rockin section in years past, so here's hoping that all supporter sections can be rocking in full force for next year!

I ran by BMO this morning.

About 30-40 in the south end. 115 westward. 112, 113 and 114 were the only clean sections. A lot of seats in the North Stands. I didn't see any right on the rail from my angle but 1/4 up onwards was a blanket of seats.

There were a number of seats in 127 including 3 first row seats together. About 15 total. NEE during the end of the season seemed to be waivering a bit. The fact there is 3 available right at the front tells me they are at a bit of a transitionary stage right now. Perhaps they just need some new blood.

111 seemed to have a fair bit availble and 110 had some with a majority of the availability being in the lower half.

I was expecting to see more Red seats available but it didn't appear there were nearly as many as last year. Perhaps offering these seats up prior to the relocation event was successful? Either that or they didn't even bother putting the tags out.

Good to luck to everyone on their relocation. I see this whole event as a cleansing of the disbelievers and an opportunity to put true supporters in seats. The club is moving in the right direction.

I'm in upper 110 and want to get 1 or 2 additional seats, in upper 110, anyone know if the so-called 'Supporters Section and Club Seats' restriction for getting additional seats valid in Upper 110, or is the restriction only valid in South-End and NEE sections, and my other question will be, what happens to non-renewals in the supporters sections, are they only available for relocations or can SSH whom are Supporters get these seats? It becomes very restricted if not.

I was told by my rep that additional seat pick-ups would not be an option for the top of 110 or any other section where standing was permitted.

Non-renewals in the supporters section seemed to be open to anyone on relocation based on seniority regardless if you are a 'hardcore' supporter or not. There were none available, from what I saw this morning, for 112, 113, 114. It wouldnt appear anyone gave up any of the seats back to the pool for these sections. There were seats available in other supporter designated sections however including 127.

My two buddies and I will be relocating to the north end this year if nothing is available in the south end.

I urge everyone moving to the north end to go on the west side. Proximity to North End Elite will be a good advantage, and if we all manage to fill up a section there, we may be able to turn it into a quasi supporter section.

As of 1:30 slot: I think there was more available last year. A bunch in lower 111 though. Nothing in 112 113 and maybe 6 seat in 114. A bunch in 117. Predictably lots in north end. NÉE section has maybe dozen available.

I was at the noon relocation and i counted about 140-150 available in yellow(only one in the RPB corner though. Increasing availabilty as you move west). A lot in the north end (from about the 10th row to the back was almost all available) and plenty but less than i expected elsewhere. You can't buy additional tickets in supporters sections.

If renewals are good, you'd just run the process. If renewals are bad, you'd hold back a lot of the inventory for this process.

Some notes (even though my appt was last night at 6pm):
1) Most tickets I have ever seen available in the south end (as noted here most is 117 and 118, but there were a scattered few in others still last night)
2) Most (I would guess more than 80%) of the north stand was still available
3) I think they increased the group sizes - there were some in my group with priority numbers in the 200's

I think many looking to "downsize" will be able to, if they aren't picky about where they want to sit...

I stand in section 116 since season one and for the better part of seasons 1-3 have been great, but it's been horrible the last two seasons. SO MANY CASUALS. If you are thinking of relocating. PLEASE MOVE TO 116 or 117. We need to take back these sections back. OCCUPY 116 and 117. PLEASE.

I was in 116 for the first four seasons.
And I totally agree with you.
there are some people that try their hardest (English Rachel)

but i moved to 115 for the 2011 campaign, and it's remarkable how crossing the aisle into a neighbouring section can make such a big difference.

My buddy is at BMO right now for me and he's telling me the pickings are slim. Not much left in 111, some sporadic singles and pair or two. As for the south, i think its been picked clean.

The atmosphere is getting shittier all over the stadium.

Even the south east corner was loosing some of its passion this year.

I think what we will eventually see over time is a move for about 500-1000 of the most hardcore supporters ending up in sections 111-113. That would probably be the best way to sound the loudest at this point.

Its sad when you think about the potential there was in 2007.

Just at the 2:30 appt. Have a pair at the bottom of 117 that the wife and mom love. Was possibly looking to move closer to 115 or 116 but seems like Age took the last pair in 116. So I didn't move. Was a pair in 116 at the top that was separated by 2 seats so I passed.
Like JonO said the most I've ever seen in the south end.
There are 4 singles in 115, about 10 singles in 116, about 20+ in 117 and about 5 in 118. 20+ in 111 and 20+ at the top of 110. And 30+ in 127.

So still chances to downsize.

Lots of people downgrading.

This was true at 12 noon too.

I talked to one of the women at the check in desk. The 12 noon session was mostly people in red seats (but not all). There were quite a few people moving from reds to dark greys (there were many good dark greys available).

The section with the most pressure on it was, interestingly, 123 (the club seats). There was a real argument about who had seniority on one of those pairs. There were only a couple of club pairs of these available, and they were snapped up.

Having satisfied myself that it was possible to move, I decided to stay where I am in the reds. But I like knowing that I had the choice!

Since I have ragged on the FO a fair bit....I owe them a tip of the hat on this. They totally did the right thing. They clearly made it possible/reasonable for higher price holders to move down. This is a big deal to me as an SSH, it's the right way to treat your core customer, it made me feel better about being an SSH, and they deserve credit for this.

In one of those pictures you see a set of 6 in 117. My buddy representing my group took 3, another guy took 3. They go the office and guess what, the numbers are all wrong. Bit of a shell game down here at BMO. We got two seats in 111. As we were walking away they were already putting out seats that were not available to us. There hadn't been a group for an hour and it was way too fast for them to be putting out seats given up by our group.

BTW I had the 6pm appointment tonight. I went on the Red List approx. Pair in 127 (row 8), 110 (row 18), some in 105, quite a few in the North Stand. Quite a few more throughout the 200's.

I'm moving from 106 to the north stand and saving $400/ticket in the process. Though the south stands will see the game from the (relatively) same vantage point that I will, I am now the proud owner of some fancy Cup holders.

However, I feel like I need to say something more. I'm sick and tired of the casuals in these sections. They don't belong, they bring nothing to the atmosphere of the stadium. I know this is my own opinion, but I feel this strongly about this.

We need more HARDCORE FANS like yourselves and friends of yours who want to relocate to these sections. SOUTH END=HARDCORE FANS WHO SING AND CHANT ALL GAME. I know the performances and results have not been good, but I believe next will be better. If you can't get seats close to the south end, than get seats close to it.

I WANT AND I THINK ALL OF YOU WANT TO FEEL AND EXPERIENCE EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED BACK IN 2007 AND 2008, BUT THIS TIME WITH POSITIVE PERFORMANCES AND RESULTS.

All I can say is when I was there at 3 30 the first 8 rows of the the middle sections(133, 134) were all gone except for about 10 seats in 133. I took 2, 2 other guys took one each to my right and a couple took 2 on the aisle next to 134. That left about 4 seats in row 8 133. In 131 and 134 first 4 or 5 rows gone and the rest available. There are 18 rows in those sections so almost 50% are gone when I left. I'm sure more people will buy these seats especially when the rest of the light greys are gone which won't take long.

I switched from sec 109 to 127 Row 9 seat 1-2. I saved bout $1200. Wow feel like I should be in a Geico commercial

I was happy with the relocation event this year - I've been a nomad the last few years and feel like I've finally gotten into a price point, area and vantage point that I'd like.

I started in 104 (Dark), moved to 109 (Dark) - these were my favourite seats, group at the top of 109 was awesome and the view was good, but too expensive, I then moved to 219 (l grey) - i didn't mind these, but I was on the wrong side of the aisle so the play was blocked 1/2 the time by passerbyers.

Now I've moved to Section 110, row 21 in the middle. It's the 2nd lowest row for lgreys (19 and under is med greys). "Supporters" section, cheap price. I'm very happy and cant wait for next season to start!

I echo the Geico of SQUIRREL.

Was in dark grey sec 106 row 17 and now moved over to light grey sec 105 a few rows up to row 24. Saved ~$1200 last night too. 6pm appt.

Considered the north end as it had a good vantage point but the extra $150 per seat wasn't worth it IMO.

Relocated from 109 to 110. Around the middle of lower 110 on row 19. Glad I don't have to worry about people asking me to sit down.

I came very close to picking up some seats in the North Stands. View of the pitch was excellent. If you are still looking for seats I would consider these seats. While the price point is not great there still is better value than some Dark Grey seats and it sounds like a good group of people are forming there.

I am jacked for next year. A rebirth of fan support via the purge and a team that is showing promise. The reds will come through in the end!

For anyone who was in 110 last year - how is the standing/seating/atmosphere in the middle rows (15-25)? I imagine everyone yelling and screaming from row 20 up, while the fat cats who can afford medium greys in row 19 and below sitting there with angry faces. Beer, peanut shells and mustard raining down upon them!:D

I'm in 110. The chanting has almost stopped but the atmosphere is still good and fun.

^^ It's hit and miss in 110, but you should be OK standing in Row 19. the standing situation in the rest of 110 largely depends on the game. Night game and/or an important one it's likely the whole section will stand. Day game or playing San Jose? Not so much.

We're in the first row (4) and try to start each game on our feet. Unfortunately we're frequently told to sit down by security as the people in rows 5-10 can't see. The good news is that most of those seats were available for new STH this year - so let's hope some like-minded supporters scoop them up.

Hope this helps.

I was in 110 a couple of years back in row 11 and the atmosphere largely depended on who was there on a partial pack. For one set, everyone stood around us and got involved. Wayne was cool with that.

For another half of games, let's just say that they weren't into the standing thing as much.

Like most things, if you can get a couple of them going around you, you'll bring the section with you.

I ended up moving into 116 from 105 - well technically I had a 115 seat in my hand. After waiting about 30 minutes to get through the process line I was told that seat shouldn't have been out there.

Thankfully because there was an hour break between 3:30 group and 4:30 I was allowed to go back out and select a different seat.

Interesting.

It looks like there is a mad dash away from expensive seats (as expected).

There might be a CCL type look to most games next year in the stadium.

Ya pretty much. With most of the fans crammed into the yellows and light greys.

Most of the people in my group (2:30), from what I could tell were still looking in the mediums to reds. There was probably about 15-20 light greys in the top of 110, same amount in 111. South-West end had the most amount of empties for yellows, and only a few people looking in any of those areas.

For those that moved around in the reds & dark greys, most were either trying to get lower (must of seen a whole bunch of empty seats below or around them during games) or get higher for a better vantage point.

You'll always have people trying to save money with cheaper seats, but some still like the location of the more expensive. I'd still have my dark greys if I could afford them.

Does security really check, I noticed a couple of different guys moving around sitting in different seats near me in dark greys. I figured they didn't have seats in the area as they were always sitting in different seats. Once a couple asked them to move out of their seats. The guys weren't embarassed at all. They said somrething like, Oh you made it and just jumped into the next row.

I know they never checked me, all I ever said was I know where I'm going.

i'm right near your new seats. best sightlines for the money, and the people are generally pretty crazy and vocal - around us anyway... you'll have a good time in 110 and hopefully we can get a bit of a recharge this year and bring back the old vibe up there!

I agree as during some of the previous CCL games at BMO I was able to just flop down in a first row seat behind the TFC bench, it was an interesting place to watch the game, plus the row at the begining of the game was pretty much empty.

Does anyone know if they are making people pay to park today? I know there is some dog show happening at the direct energy center so just wonder if i would be better parking in liberty village and walking down

Yes, I had to pay for parking. There is a small parking section on the sidewalk area just east of the ticket office. I parked there and paid via the meter.

When I left, I gave the dashboard slip to someone who'd just arrived.

Saved them $13.

I assumed I'd have to pay for parking yesterday so I went up to the Hanna Green P - I think I put in 90 minutes worth - 3.75 or something. More than enough, plus a nice walk in the brisk autumn air :) I was silently upset when I showed up at BMO and the Smoke's truck wasn't there. :)
