Amazing! What a match!!

Especially proud of Henry and Harden - they did a great job neutralizing Shea.

Plata with a pair of goals.

JDG was a monster.

Iro had his best game as a Red.

Every single player stepped up and delivered HUGE.

So what do people prefer, drawing an MLS side or a Mexican/Central American side.

Personally I hope its an MLS side as they will be just as out of season as us.

The game will be in early/mid March. My guess is they will play it at BMO Field because the demand isn't really there anymore for moving this to the SkyDome.

The best played game of the season!!

Winter's vision was finally realized, in the most important game of the season.

They looked the better team, even though Dallas was at home and had great players like Brek Shea.

The passing was wonderful, every player concentrated all 90 minutes, and the skill of Plata and Koevermans was excellent.

Anyone who questions Winter's coaching abilities after Ty Harden's improvement is looking in the wrong direction. Hell even Iro is getting better. I bitched both of them out respectively (Harden at the start of the year, Iro when he first joined). Something is clicking on all levels with this coaching staff. Results speak for themselves.

Can't wait for March!!!!!!!

A few weeks ago a started a thread trying to come up with ways MLSE could win back the good will of the city of Toronto. How about this, $10 tickets, GA for the entire stadium for that match. Supporters section where the Argos rowdies are, visiting fans in the 500 level corner by the jumbotron. Done. Sign me up

Toronto FC was the best team on the pitch. Dallas beat us 1-0 three times so we beat them 3-0. Our first big achievement in franchise history. Everybody just needs to enjoy this, we're going to the QUARTERFINALS.

I say have it at Skydome.... just like Montreal had their game at the Big O. But tickets have to be reasonable so it'll be full. Introduce people to TFC who maybe haven't been to a game. What a great opportunity to start the 2012 season on a positive.

Biggest game of the year and they got the job done. Impressive. That was quite the dressing down of Dallas in their own house.

I'm not sure what to make of Dallas. They appear to be falling apart. I was not impressed with any aspect of the team we faced save for Shea who was the only one showing intensity and creativity. And their D looked like they should have been wearing Toronto red. Awful, awful, awful. Never thought I'd say this but they could have learned from our defensive line.

That was just plain old amazing

Soolsma, Harden, JDG all outstanding.

Especially impressed with Harden he has really stepped up the last few months.

Soolsma danced Lloyd all game, his lack of speed is incredibly exxagerated, stamina is amazing he was up and down the field all night supporting the the dangerous "Shea" side of the field

JDG dominated the midfield, he was on every ball that popped into middle, FCD had no link up play through middle.

I had no hope, I thought they were going to fold like they did in New York a few years back when they needed to win to make the playoffs and instead folded and were beaten 5-0, however, this team proved me wrong, and how wrong I was. The best game I have ever seen this team play since year 1, and they won a game they needed to win a tie was no good. They simply got the job done with so much on the line, very, very impressive, well done TFC!

I just want to add that the officiating was ok. I feel that too many times when TFC plays away games in MLS league play the refs seem to always favour the home sides, exspecialy the fact that we are a Canadian team playing away games in American cities with mainly American refs. How many times have we been screwed by these MLS refs when we play on the road. However, not tonight these Mexican refs were very neutral and called a fair game.

Fuck them... Shoeless Joes from now on

Real Sports was also rocking with TFC supporters tonight. I was pleasantly surprised when GolTV provided the live feed of the celebrations.

a lot of players have redeemed themselves in recent weeks.
Harden is just so much better than he was 6 months ago, when I was wishing he'd be shipped out. Soolsma, who I always liked but admittedly was slow as hell, looked good tonight as well. He's very good on the ball and he was actually beating that Dallas defender at times. Kocic has proven now he's a decent keeper (after that fuckup in one CCL game). Morgan looks like a starter; even Henry was looking decent and composed.

Assuming Pumas doesn't lose to Tauro tomorrow and we finish second, possible opponents right now would be Monterrey (finished first tonight), Santos Laguna (in all likelihood), and either the Galaxy or Alajuelense.

On another note, I was curious about the reactions to tonight's match from neutral MLS fans, so I read the CCL game day thread at BigSoccer. Believe it or not, the overwhelming majority of American supporters were cheering for TFC and felt that our fan base was much more deserving of representing MLS in the CCL quarter finals.

Another first in a year of firsts. This was a true team effort and a sign of good things to come next season (if we can keep these guys). This is truely a TOTALLY different club than the one that started the season. We just beat a team that beat us in the regular season and is headed for the MLS playoffs and beat them at their place for a all or nothing spot in the next round. I can't wait for next season.

In the Dallas airport right now. Such an unbelievable night! I haven't done many roadtrips, but am so glad I picked last night!!!

I don't think I have my wits to try and explain. Definitely numb. The guys played out of their minds last night. I don't think I've ever hung on every pass like I did past night. Cheers to the other 11 that made the trip down. So glad we met up. So glad we didn't sit when we were asked!
Paul Mariner and Tom Anselmi were with us in the stands. Bought a round a half, and were solid guys to share their night with us.
The f$&king look on BDK's face after the 3rd goal. Unbelievable. And all the players coming to us after the game was the icing on the cake.

Starting to save points now for the road trip in March!!!

Cheers,
Martyn

So this is what supporting a winning club feels like! I could get used to this! Easily the best performance ever by the Reds. Loved the Ticky Tacka passing for much of the game. Ty Hardens improvement shows the quality of the coaching. So does the fact that we now have the La Liga JDG. De Guzman had a monster of a game last night and truly looked like a DP. Only Iro looked poor. A solid and complete performance from what looks like a good team. With some offseason improvements and a whole preseason, they may look like CCL contenders. Great time @ Joe's last night!

Soolsma is a talented player no doubt, but it's a shame that he is as slow as he is. A winger without any pace isn't all that useful.

Still i do like the guy and do think he is effective. I'd hope he's back next year. Really i hope the majority of the team is back next year. Hopefully the ridiculous roster turnover we are used to seeing stops now.

I came home from work last night too tired to watch the match I recorded, so I waited 'till this morning to finally watch it in its entirely, expecting a usual - in our side's history - performance from TFC.

Oh! My! Fuck!

For arguably the most important match ever, against a team they have had fits against on the road, The domination showed by TFC to defeat FC Dallas 3-0 was unbelieveable. This may be the greatest game they've ever played, and that includes the Miracle in Montreal. I thought I was gonna cry tears of joy after the match, it was so beautiful.

I just wished that I had skipped work last night in order to watch it live. It just didn't feel the same as watching it recorded. Hell, I wish I could have taken the train to get to Toronto to watch it at Joe's or Real Sports.

Speaking of which, I'll betcha there were more people at those bars than there were at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas last night. what an embarassing crowd (our own travelers who flew down to support TFC excluded of course).

It's a famous victory.

Once we're done celebrating...it has to be said that we were fortunate, there is something seriously wrong with Dallas, even beyond the fact that they were missing Benitez because of the red card in the previous game.

They just needed to win one of their last 3 games, and got blown out of all of them. I'm guessing they're the team everyone wants to draw in the playoffs.

As special as the Miracle in Montreal I think this is way passed it in terms of performance. I think many are forgetting that in Montreal, we were the only ones with something to play for. Montreal played a weak team and was indifferent to the result.

Here we played a team from a better league away from home. We dominated their first team in a game they needed at least a draw and thus had everything to play for. Also the passing in this game was by far the best display in five years. Seems like Winter has been teaching something. And not many teams can say they have three DP's clicking all at the same time. Heck, most teams would wish they had just one working out for them.

Lastly even, though we only have had 1 MLS road win, I do feel that we've been more competitive on the road than other years. I mean we are scoring a lot of road goals this year and we got a lot of draws too. Again, all we need to do is tighten at the back and we'll be a dangerous team. Ever since the July signings our offence has been pretty dangerous.
