Wow that's great for someone who has followed our national team since I was a kid in the 70's that was something, let's never stop dreaming , Brazil is the ultimate goal for the thousands of kids and adults that kick a ball around in this country, what a prize that would be to reach the promise land in 2014, nothing wrong with dreaming .

el diego, thats old news.

George Weah Update, if anyone is curious about what he's been up to, apparantly he says that the current president of Liberia, a woman, who recently won the Nobel Peace prize, does not deserve the recognition. If his accusations are true than it would indicate that the Nobel committee does use their distinctions to meddle in politics. Interesting info.

Sirleaf does not deserve Nobel prize, say Weah, Tubman: http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/10/07/us-nobel-liberia-idUSTRE7966HW20111007

Javier Martina was subbed on in the 80th minute of Curacao's 1-0 loss to Antigua. His first cap I believe.

Yes, it's true. I have decided to leave CBC after Sportsnet approached me and offered me a job.

I start at Sportsnet on Oct. 17.

Congrats John, What kind of soccer work will you do at Sportsnet. Sportsnet needs someone like you. Please cover TFC and MLS. Make sure Sportsnet gets TV rights to TFC games next year. Tom Anselmi told me at the Town Hall meetings that he will talk with people at Sportsnet including Scott Moore to get TFC back on Sportsnet.

My main job will be to serve as the chief soccer reporter and writer for the Sportsnet website. I'll also likely contribute to the new print magazine from time to time, and make occasional appearances on TV and Fan 590.

Will you focus on TFC, Whitecaps and MLS? TFC and MLS fans need more experienced and knowlegable people like yourself. We get so little coverage. Way too much hockey and baseball. Baseball gets so much coverage than TFC, especially during the summer.

Yes. I will be focusing on MLS (TFC, Vancouver and Montreal) and Canadian national teams.

That's awesome. We need more soccer people like yourself. Soccer needs more attention from major networks, especially on TV and Radio. Message to Jeff Blair.

John please PLEASE never be afraid to ask the tough questions. The thing I hate is during the press confrence, it seems that the reports are reading scripted questions that the MLSE has prepared. I know you will do an amazing job. Good luck
