TFC Academy Playoffs

The youth academy team has their first playoff game on Saturday, October 8th at 3PM at St. Joan of Arc school in Vaughan. Jim Brennan, the head coach, asked me to pass along an invitation to all of RPB to come out and support the academy team.

I'll be there with the trunk full of scarves - Frei player of the year, 2011 RPB member scarves, 2010 RPB member scarves and long bar scarves.

TFC Academy 2 won today 3-1

TFC Academy 2 won today 3-1

- TFCA2 scored first at around 2' mark
- Shooter equalized around 7' mark
- Combination of physical play and some rush decision by the ref put TFCA2 man up around 20' mark
- Even man down Shooter played very well and had majority of the offensive play during the first half (possible penalty) and begging of the second half
- TFCA2 scored twice late in the game
- Parents of the players and Coaches added some entertainment by heckling and arguing
- Attendance was around 40
- $15 admission is too much, but you can watch for free from the stand of the pitch next door
- There is a big difference in quality of play between TFCA and TFCA2. You can already see "Winters" influence on TFCA, but in my opinion TFCA2 is took direct and passing is definitely not a name of the game for this kids yet.

^^^ DD's team also reverted back to dump and chase football on sunday, not sure if this was on purpose or the fact there were alot of backups on the field.
