CCL: Pumas to field full-strength lineup against FC Dallas
GUADALAJARA, Mexico — FC Dallas won’t be facing the baby felines this time around. Pumas UNAM head coach Guillermo Vázquez says he’ll field a full-strength team for Wednesday’s trip to Pizza Hut Park in CONCACAF Champions League play (8 pm ET, FOX Soccer).
“I proposed it [to the first-team players], told them that this [competition] is important to me and that they should participate and play,” Vázquez told reporters shortly before leaving for Texas. “I had a very favorable response from each of them.”
Not looking too good...

I guess they didn't field their first team in the first two matches because the players didn't want to play. Well done coach by changing their minds.

That's really not good makes a tough task even more tough. Hopefully they can atleast tie at this point.
Crazy game in Dallas! Double red to Jackson and a Pumas player after a headbutt and an elbow in the first half.
Tied 0-0, 10v10 the rest of the way.

It's looking good for now, let's hope that with 10 v10 MLS physical style will prevail.
Notes at the half: exciting game, fun to watch. Dallas' back four really shows how long ours has to go, very solid back there. Pumas has brought a great contingent of supporters, badly outnumber FCD fans.
Match could go either way at this point. TFC's chances to advance hang in the balance!

Best case scenario... we field our b team on Saturday and A team on Tuesday for the win!
Then we do the same for Dallas.
Well that's that then. 2-0 Pumas final. Worst possible outcome. TFC need maximum points from next two games or some help from Tauro again. So much for the knockout stages.
Pumas outplayed Dallas in the second half though. They deserved to win.

If we can't beat Pumas at home, or an MLS rival on the road, we won't fare well deeper in the tournament anyways. Win both games and we're in first place. Period.

Wow Dallas looked very organized defensively. Aside from the late goal, they looked like they had Pumas in check. Sure Pumas had more of the game in the second half, but its not like it was chance after chance for the Mexicans.
Dallas played composed, good ball movement. Pumas were quick.
Refs got the game spot on. Good match.... aside from the real shitty outcome.

See what fucks us is are goal difference. Dallas Has 0, while we have -3. If we tie against Pumas, and Dallas wins, we are 3 points behind Dallas. If we pull out a victory in Dallas, we would have to have to at least beat them by 2 goals (thats if they only beat Tauro by 1), but then again, this Tauro team gave both Pumas (ok there Bteam) and Dallas problems. This Pumas first team is very good, and we should be thrilled if we get a point.

Phase 2: Group Stage. 1)Greater number of points earned in matches between the teams concerned. 2)Greater goal difference in matches between the teams concerned. 3) Greater number of goals scored away from home in matches between the teams concerned. 4) Reapply first three criteria if two or more teams are still tied. 5) Greater goal difference in all group matches. 6) Greater number of goals scored in group matches. 7) Greater number of goals scored away in all group Matches.8) Drawing of lots
This means if we draw Pumas and Dallas beats Tauro by 1, we would have to beat Dallas by 2 to finish ahead of them in the standings.

Hey, if we don't advance, we didn't have the horses to do it. No shame in that. Right from the start everyone was jizzing over Dallas and Pumas anyways. It was only when things didn't go quite right for Pumas that people started wondering if TFC could sneak in. But I don't want to sneak in. If we go in to the quarters, we should go in on our own terms, with wins!!!! Win out and it doesn't matter what other teams did for us. Booyah!!!

yep, if dallas beats tauro, they'll have 10. if we tie pumas then beat dallas we'll have 10. if we beat them by anything better then 1-0, we'll advance on either gd between the two teams, or most away goals scored between 2 teams. win 1-0 and it goes to over all gd and we''re screwed.

I hate Concacaf. Watching Alajuelense vs. LA is pretty bad with the diving but Real Espana vs. Colorado is actually disgusting. The smallest contact, i'm talking a light body check and the goalie in convulsing. Are Concacaf referees this stupid? Do they really believe these guys are this fragile? Its times like this I understand why this sport gets so much flack in our country.
