League news - Sports Business Journal reports that MLS is in talks with an equity firm to sell a 25% stake in Sports United Marketing for around $125-150 million. The article (sub req'd) suggests that MLS will use the proceeds to provide a dividend to owners in light of past losses and also to perhaps fund a player acquisition fund to obtain top level international players. The equity firm, Providence Equity, was almost the primary investor in Philly Union but decided against investing at the team level in favor of league level investment.

So, if this happens it would put the value of SUM at $600 million in total, that's the pot of gold MLS owners get access to when they cough up their franchise fee.

I wondered the same thing when I first read that article but then I realised that he's doing what many do. He's just taking an opposite opinion for the sake of debate and controversy.

It makes little sense to be exasperated with the team now...after a good win. But whatever.....I appreciate what he does calling games and all but his insight on the game has never been anything to be impressed with.

His accent gives him way more credibility than the actual merits of analysis and this is just another example of it.

Why people can't just enjoy a win is beyond me. Miserable fuck. LOL

No, it's not a typo....he is injured....won't be travelling to mexico and could be pretty bad injury, waiting for more substantial results.....
