"have bragging rights to say 'I was there from the very beginning and not some sort of bandwagon-ist."

Well said, Coach Hart.

"Taste the soup."

Said even better, Coach Hart.

And lastly, Fuck the Shootout.

Taste the soup!

I wonder how many Puerto Ricans will be coming up from New York. We can't really judge their interest by what we saw on tuesday since there seems to be more Puerto Ricans living in new york than Puerto Rico. Hopefully if a lot of them do come up, they are mostly women:).

I'll be having another taste of soup.

The soup comment is epic.

And lastly, Fuck the Shootout.

Seriously, the organizers need to stop trying to stray from soccer orthodoxy and look at their fucking own league. Having 10 out of 18 spots for playoffs, no relegation, more emphasis on winning the MLS cup and not the league all add to the issue.

Puerto rico is a basebal country, that being said its also a proud country so theres no real way of knowing how many people will come up

I'd say not many. I think you'll see just as many Puerto Ricans as we saw St.Lucians.

LOL!

I foresee some form of banner in reference to "soup".

For some reason it also reminded me of Robbie Alomar (who I happened to meet having dinner with his MILF ladyfriend just a few weeks ago.)

But what kind of soup does the Canada team serve for us to taste? Mostly broth with a few limp noodles? Hearty style with lots of chunky goodness? I guess it depends on the day and the competition.

I love how, at the end of the article in the comments you have all these people blaming Toronto for the lack of support. Then going on to say that we need to have the games hosted outside of the city. Apparently their memory is not working too well, I bet we can all remember that disgrace in Montreal?. How about the Mexican home game in Edmonton? Toronto is the only place outside of possibly Vancouver (or Newfoundland :) ) that we actually have the home field advantage.

they dont seem to remember those matches...hart should have just stated that they only receive mainly home support in Toronto which is why it was selected...and point out the lack of home support in the other cities...

They conveniently forget it was supporters groups, local clubs etc. that managed to get 10k out for the game. Most people who saw me "didn't know TFC played games on a Friday night"

Actually, the reason why it was selected was that, according to Hart, they didn't have enough money to arrange the matches in other cities. Said that in a press conference.

3rd Round he said things will probably be different.

And lastly, Fuck the Shootout.

This, +1000 times!

Since I just watch MLS because of TFC (and otherwise I would never ever watch) I just found out that some idiotic shootout rule was in effect in (4?) MLS editions around 2000, in order to "be more in the line with the other North American Sports, where there is always a winner and a loser".

What a huge load of North American crap was that rule, they want to play the sport that is number one worldwide, or they want to reinvent it with North American rules?

North American? You mean American! Canadians are fine with draws (just look at hockey before Yanks took over NHL).
