I'll be there!

Anyone with a ticket from tonight will be allowed into BMO tomorrow according to Asif.

is it for sure that we can get in?
don't they need staff and stuff to allow fans in the stadium?

if my boss scans this site for whatever reason, i'm really coming down with something...

Red CB Toronto

I think all the ticketholders will get a refund, you can't really expect people who bought tickets for a game at 8 pm on a Wednesday night to be on the hook for a makeup at 10:15 am on a Thursday morning. I think Vancouver was going to be refunded if it had been played at 11 am the next day.

Someone could just make copies of their tickets for fellow supporters to attend the kids at the Ex gate were not really giving each ticket much of a look, when I entered tonight held it up and just said TFC. Let's get as many supporters possible into BMO.

The ticket is not actually needed for the TFC game, they are going to open up the gates to anyone on the grounds to attend. You need it to get past the EX entrance without paying the 16.00. The closest entrance to the EX grounds to BMO is the GO/TTC area/tunnel.

As I said before they really do not give tickets much of a look, so printing multiple copies of the same ticket is doable for all supporters to attend.

I buy tickets to this game which i knew would be more then half empty, i just missed my GO train so had to wait for the next one and i get there at 8pm instead of 7pm and then they wont let me in with my flag because you need to be there half an hour before kickoff...whats the difference if i have it at 7:30 or 8pm seriously. Knowing MLSE, they probably will add to insult and not give fans a refund for tonights game,we all know MLSE just dont want people to come back in the future!

ive always said they should take advantage of the CNE more. open up BMO on non game days to let non-tfc people have a look round. open up the merchandise stands to the public.

how often does tens of thousands of potential new fans just turn up at your doorstep everyday for a few weeks? well i guess it happens every year. but so far i havnt seen any effort to capture that amazing walk up crowd.

WHAT A MADCAP DECISION. Only MLSE is capable of this.... well, them and BILLSINTORONTO.

Here's what you do - go to today's match, then claim you couldn't make it and ask for a refund. You may not be able to use your same ticket (if they're scanning), but you'll come out ahead... or at least not as behind...

This. I've been to games where I've nearly froze to death and the team lost. Did I want my money back because of lousy weather? No. I want my money back for a game that actually never happened and I paid for. A free ticket to a game I'm already attending does nothing for me.

EMAILED THIS TO MY TICKET REP TODAY

Bottom line is that it‘s usual good customer service to offer a refund if a product/service provided cannot be fulfilled. I get the “rain or shine” thing, but this is different. Last night was a once in 10 years deal. I suspect that the likes of Seattle would have immediately offered a refund, based on their record of looking after the fanbase.

If MLSE doesn’t offer a refund what they are basically expecting is that supporters were expected to brave a possible tornado or at the very least an electrical storm in a steel stadium with no roof and insufficient shelter, then wait around for 2 hours while the officials decided what to do, then book a day off work for a farcical 10.15 start in order to support the team

Few will shift the freebies for Tauro. Remember, those of us who bought CCL tickets are the most ardent supporters, not the casual fans. MLSE can make a gesture here or piss additional supporters off.

It’s not even the money that’s the issue. I made the decision to stay home for safety reasons as a responsible parent. I would easily have spent more than the $15 x2 on parking, dinner and drinks. It’s the basic principle of looking after your good customers

The whinging on here is unreal.

all I ask is to be treated as a valued customer and not just taken for granted by the FO. It's a point of principle and I have little faith that MLSE will do the right thing.
If that's whinging then so be it

Yes and no.

If folks want a refund because it was raining, well that's just silly.

If an event is cancelled however, it is fully within the scope of reason to be offered a refund or at the very least an exchange.

MLSE will step up.

Depends on whats in the small print. If it says no refund if the event is cancelled, then it's not within your rights. Not choosing to read that small print is the fault of the buyer, not the seller.

I don't like MLSE, but it seems like everything with them turns into a witch hunt these days.

A free ticket that probably about half the people they give them to wont be able to use as they already bought tickets to the other two matches. Good luck on giving a Tuesday night ticket Vs Tauro FC away. I know I won't be able to.

exactly we all have tickets already
i dont need a free ticket that they cant sell
so they just use that to make themselves look like they care

and what if we get an extra ticket
i wont be able to sit next to that person
even though it will be empty anyways so they could prob sit next to me
o i know who will take the ticket the man sitting across from me who was causing pure drama with the guy in front of him who had his son there...
"security security this man and his son need to find a new seat, he was not aware that people swear in the south end"
stupid drama for nothing...

i changed my mind i now want 2 free beer coupons... (yes i know im selfish and am not thinking about the kids and people who dont drink)
i would also like a $6 refund for taking the street car there and back... ha ha yea right the day --- and ttc service to the ex is still shite... waited 25 min for the lower spadina st car
i would also like $5 back for tipping the building concierge for using their printer to print my ticket cause it is impossible to get a hold of anyone at bmo or their box office past 5pm

1. they should of never went back out after the first delay... who is the person who made that decision...
2. they should of cancelled it before it even started... i dont care about hotel and flight cost for dallas to come back here...
3. they could of had the game tonight.. its not like one extra day of rest will do tfc any benefit

Not trying to turn it into one, just stating that it is common practice to refund or at least allow for exchanges when an event is cancelled.

As for the fine print, I know on our season tickets it reads as follows:

"In the event of the cancellation of this event, Toronto FC shall not be required to issue a refund provided that the Holder is given the right, within twelve months of the date of the original Event, to attend a rescheduled performance of the same event or to exchange this ticket for a comparable ticket to another similar event as designated by Toronto FC."

I think when an event is cancelled due to the weather, no refunds should be expected.

I think the above is talking about a game just being cancelled, like when the NYRB game was moved for Real Madrid. Then you can get a refund 'cause the ticket is no longer for what you originally thought it was when you purchased it.

Just got this from my rep:

You’ll get free tickets to an option of 3 games. We’ll be sending you out communication in the next coming days.

[quote=eustacchio;1369195]I think when an event is cancelled due to the weather, no refunds should be expected.

i kind of agree with this...
i dont expect refunds for games cancelled due to weather
but what i do expect is reschedule the game at a reasonable time
and not when 90 percent of the people are at work and cant attend...
again giving extra tickets is useless unless they give me the seat next to me which is impossible
its hard for us hardcores to convince the avg footy fan to to come watch tfc play a ccl game how the hell would we tell them they have to sit with strangers and where is the compensation factor the person we bring will like us more or hopefully buy us a beer for the ticket?... or do they expect us to sell the ticket we would prob do a better job then them in doing that... o maybe thats the plan... give me a break seriously i dont want your ticket you can keep it mlse...

my andy iro 2009 upper deck card has officially found a permanent spot at my workstation at work... it really does a good job filtering the fakes away from my desk... especially with his crew uniform.

besides all this crap we have to go through as fans
toronto till i die...

Ya, that pretty much sums it up. Its a tough spot for FO on this one, lets see what the options are.

i dont expect refunds for games cancelled due to weather but what i do expect is reschedule the game at a reasonable time
and not when 90 percent of the people are at work and cant attend... How do you that without violating the tournament rules? The Champions League rules clearly states
If the match is interrupted before the completion of normal playing time or extra time (if required) because of extreme weather or for reasons outside the control of the host team, a repeat match lasting 90 minutes shall be arranged for the following day, thus avoiding the considerable extra expense for the visiting team. If it is still impossible to play the match the next day for the same reasons, the match may be postponed by another day, provided both teams agree. If the match can still not be played on the third day, the expenses thus incurred by the visiting team shall be split between the two teams. (http://www.concacaf.com/staticFiles/d1/3a/0,,12813~146129,00.pdf)

At best the game would have been this evening. However, given that both teams are playing on Saturday, and Dallas in particular has to travel, there seems to have been little other options. I suppose it could have been a bit later in the day - perhaps afternoon, but I don't think this would have made much difference to most of those attending.

We all knew that these are the rules going in, after what happened with the Vancouver game.

Interesting to note, there is nothing in the rules about the game being in the book at the 65th minute ... the way it is written, if we have a massive power failure during the 93rd minute, with another minute to play, we'd have to completely replay the game.

Do we have any electricity power workers here?

Is this for people who skipped the game due to the potential weather sort of like they did for the G20 game or does it include those who made it out last night?

@RooneyRPB
it is a very tough situation
mlse / concacaf... how far should each one go etc etc...

@Wull
wishfull thinking my friend!

@nfitz
then the rules do not consider the consumer...
which should be the main focus at all times...
