this is really remarkable how well they are performing. as has been said they are handicapped by age and only being a first year squad but they are still mopping the floor with these other teams. Come on you little Reds!

Way to go, good to see the TFC U-16 team do well, geting one of those spots in a big international tourney would be huge. ALso good to see the U-18 team have a good weekend with a win and tie in the CSL.

Which is kind of funny because when you watch the highlights, if anything our team looks bigger than the players they are playing against.

although they've been with the academy for only a couple of months, many of these kids played together on the provincial team and are familiar with each other. They've been playing great though, and best of luck to them.

It will be cool if the TFC u16, or U18 get a invite to some of the prestigous tournaments for youth Soccer, Tourneys like the Dallas Cup, or the Viaraggio tourney In Italy.

Dallas cup is usually end of July early aug...im sure there is a website for that... Spain..? but it would be terrific for the lads to go there...
MLSE get the academy to play games out of BMO next year one before the full team and one after, it would make for a good soccer saturday.:canada:

stand corrected on dates.

I think a trip to Spain or even Dallas would be huge for this team, to play top flight teams in their age group will go a long way in their development.

This is all fine and dandy, but what I really care about is players from the youth system making the senior team. I don't really care what the results are from a tournament.

Somebody forward that to Cunningham see if he can't learn how to finish.

He hit both those goals into the side netting, keeper had no chance.

Crazy...we have a non-committed 15 -year old (or whoever he is and how old he is) who finishes better than the pros. And didn't the coach say in the voice over that he's a natural winger?!?! Christ, might be the next T. Henry.

Edit: Apparently Brian McLoud, my bad. Hell, sign the kid to an Adu-like pro deal now. If he can finish twice that cooly, we might as well try bringing him along now with Ibee, rather than losing him to another team.

I played with Ryan for a couple of years and he's really a great kid. He's got experience with the provincial team and was even invited to a training camp with Everton's youth squad.

Got to be something to that. Matheson looks like he can finish too (judging from the other videos). Nice to see considering that isn't always something we see from Canadian soccer players.

A shame we can't sign any of these kids until our academy has been in place for 2 years.

From the looks of the highlights from this tournament, the plus side is I think we can expect several of these kids to graduate on up, as long as some lameass MLS rule doesn't snake them out from under us.

I think we stand a better chance of them trying outside the league (especially if we qualify for spain) as opposed to losing to another MLS club.

Trying not to sound too overoptimistic (ok we've already passed that point :hump:), but we're seeing stuff from the U-17's we don't really see from the CSL squad.

Is it until our academy has been in place for two years or until they've been in it for two years, I realize They are one and the same now but later on it won't be
