I agree that TFC is essentially out of the playoffs.

But I expect the team to continue to take league matches seriously. Those are important for season ticket renewals. The general fan base puts the league in higher regard than the CCL.

Those of us with GOL! TV should all cancel the day that TFC is eliminated from the playoffs. Then send an email to our ticket reps letting them know. It isn't much but it would hit TFC in the pocket book for a whole 10K/month.

Agreed. Getting into the Fifa Club World Cup (with only 7 of the world's best clubs) would be the equivalent to me of Canada qualifying, and winning the World Cup.

Except for the CCL games this is pre-season for 2012. With Cann and Williams back next year we should be in good shape.

TFC has played 26 games. Its a 34 game season. (18 team league, play all 17 of your opponents 2 times for a 34 game schedule).

Why do people keep saying we have 10 games left?

TFC is really missing the opportunity to capture a new audience by not making the playoffs. The city is so dire for success that, I bet, a lot of non-soccer fans would jump on the ship if TFC were in it.

TFC is not going to make the playoffs. I'd love to be wrong, but I won't be. It was a good win last night guys, but it was a single win. And had RSL bagged one of their chances, and the game ended 1-1, lots of people would still be prepared to throw themselves off a bridge in anger.

I think real progress is being made with this current group of players, but it won't be nearly enough to get us into the post-season. We should focus first and foremost on the CCL, and do as well as we can in the league these last 8 games, to make a statement, figure out what we've got, and continue building that winning mentality.

I get that hope springs eternal, but our first league win in a while (even against good opposition), shouldn't immediately renew post-season hopes. String two or three wins together, and maybe it's a conversation worth having.
