In the last article, the Johnson one, there is a link at the bottom for chalkboard. If you haven't gone to this before, it is a complete statistical breakdown of the game and is very enlightening!

I like that Chalkboard.

A few folks are on Iro, even after last night. Just for fun, compare Eckersley and Iro in the Chalkboard. Both had strong outings.

That Johnson is a little competitive/bitter, eh?

Might have had better stats but we capitalized on our chances; ie: we were the better team in this match

I've learned from my whole life of playing sports, the stronger team is the one that wins. End of story.

That doesn't include things like corruption of officials of course.. But stronger teams can overcome even that.

The RSL comments are embarrassing, such whinery.

Meh, RSL might be the "better" team but you have to actually go out and win the match. Maybe if Espindola doesn't pooch his chances they'd have a point.

Do you know who the better team was...??? The one that WON THE MATCH...

I hate it when fans, coaches, players, say "we were the better club", "we had more possession", "we deserved to win"...

All that matters is the scoreboard...

I'd rather have a team that is out-possessed 98%-2% every game, but wins on the scoreboard more often than not...

JUST WIN BABY, that is really all that matters in the end...

Will Johnson sounds like a serious whiner in the MLS article. The reality is that TFC outplayed RSL in the first half, and RSL had the edge in the second half, with both teams producing an equal number of quality scoring chances throughout the match.

I've got news for him. They weren't the better team. They had maybe 10 minutes toward the end of the first half and the last 10 when we were playing 10 men behind the ball. Otherwise we were the better team.

I'll admit they missed a few sitters. But the better team is the one that finishes it's chances.

Johnson is just being a homer. I forgive him.

I have to.

I'm gonna be cheering him in a couple of weeks vs St. Lucia!

come on Willie Johnson, why does missing all your chances not count towards the evaluation of who was the "better team"?

The goal is to score right? Or am I mistaken.... ohhh, is it "luck" then? RSL were "unlucky" and missing those chances has nothing to do with anything?

I think when you evaluate which was the better team, you include everything in the equation, including the actual scoring of goals, which is the objective. Will Johnson can't just pick and choose the evidence in his evaluation of which is the better team. Certainly they hit the bar on two shots, for example, but is that "unlucky" or just a matter of failure on the part of the striker of the ball? I mean, if that's Messi shooting, does he hit the bar or tuck it just underneath ;)

'possession' only wins a game of 'keep-away'.

I think that in almost all cases, the team that deserves to win proves it by actually winning. Is RSL a stronger side than TFC? Most likely yes, but yesterday was our day. That's sports.

Meh not too annoyed with how RSL reacted.

After almost every match Winter says "if you've watched the match we've played quite well, we were the better team"

Johnson was being a little bitch all game, especially after we were up. You have to admit though, even if the shots were relatively even on paper you'll see in chalk board that most of ours were from outside the 18 yard box while theirs were inside.

Gotta be honest. That East Side Stand Up podcast is dire. Torsten Frings has been part of this club for the past month so when some asks what position he typically plays, I turn it off and figure the rest of the podcast will be crap.

Your article was fine though. :)

Agreed. No point in being upset with Johnson, we, as a team, have bigger fish to fry.

News Flash ... The "better" team doesn't always win!

But the team that plays well on the day, makes their own chances thru hard work and capitalizes on them and gets a little luck along the way ... seldom loses.

RSL seems like a team that has stayed the same while other sides are getting better.

Fact is I thought TFC has a decent game and I just think they worked harder and got the breaks. RSL was a much more tense side. Neither team really outshone the other, it was a pretty equal match and TFC got the home field goal.

In the end it came down to Kocic out duelling Rimando. Everything else was basically a wash.
