Toronto FC [7] - [1] New England Revolution


A sizzling performance from TFC youngsters Monday night matched the 36C (98F) heat at kickoff, as Toronto FC U-17 Academy team began a 7-1 romp of New England Revolution in their opening match of the 2011 Generation adidas U17 Cup in Frisco, Texas.

By far the man of the match was Sergio Camargo with two goals and a few quality final passes for his supporting cast to finish off.

The opening strike of the match came from Michael Petrasso on a delightful through ball in behind the Revolution defence at the 16th minute. Petrasso's touch finished off a solid build from the back.

Good stuff. Hopefully this group will be the backbone of our 2018 MLS Cup champion squad. :D

Agree, its the most positive thing to come from TFC and it impacts football for Canada. The Sergio Carmargo story, of going to Portugal and then coming back to join the academy is something that would have been very unlikely before.
