We were in the preliminary round that year we lost to Puerto Rico so I think that counts. No excuse for the other stuff though.

dude the article says we lost to Motagua...not division...as I recall we won in the prelims? the article is not referring to the first year...its referring to last season...

First of all he should be saying this our third straight year since he believes we lost in the prelims last year to Motagua (we lost in the same round the previous year to Puerto Rico). Therefore to even say this is our second straight year means he is including preliminaries as a CCL appearance. Therefore it should say it's our third straight appearance.

Second, bowing out to Motagua last year would imply that we were eliminated which we were not. We won 1-0 at home and tied 2-2 away.

When it comes to summarizing the history of 3 MLS teams in a tournament that is now going into it's fourth year (one where no more than 24 teams play in) this guy seems to be really clueless. It's one thing to be knowingly ignorant and hence choose not to mentiont TFC but, to actually publish false facts just takes away all credibility from any journalist.
