Hopefully, Eckersley, JDG, and Dunfield will all be available tomorrow in what should be the strongest lineup TFC has fielded this season. The new players on the roster are still in the process of developing a sense of familiarity, but I think the expectation of a result in KC is definitely within reason.

I'm hoping for a victory, but expecting a draw.

C'MON YOU NEW REDS!

I like it. Frings can stay back or push forward depending on the flow of the match and distribute effectively from anywhere in the centre of the pitch.

Folks, it's going to be effin HOT at this game. 29 C at game time (7:30 local, 8:30 EST) is bad enough, but 80% humidity is deadly. (For comparison, we've had 40-50% rel. humidity in Toronto during this heat wave, and that already felt extremely sticky.) Kouvermans and some of the others aren't going to do well.

They have to play smart & not give away too many chances or expend too much energy early. No idea if they can do that.

I am curious to see how Jeferson compares to our DP signings. They went down a path I think is very interesting (ie getting a 27 year old at the margins in the Brazilian first division). Plus it's a loan, so they've managed their risk well, if it doesn't work out.

Iro and Viator both new in the CB may not be good, I suspect Harden still starts there for this game and possibly next one until Iro and Viator becomes familiar with the other players...

I think the extra time with the DPs will be helpful. Even these few extra days. But an away game, in the heat against a team on fire...I am going to predict that we can't overcome that to get a win on the road.

1-1 final score. Frings with a bullet from a free kick in the last 15 minutes after KC goes up 1-0 in the first half.

Yourassowsky should try to stay as far away from the field as possible. I have been coaching youth soccer for many years and the one thing I look for in a player is the ability to maintain possesion, making and completing passes and not getting caught in possesion. Yourassowsky has been caught in possesion too many times to even comment on , passes more often have gone to the other team, this guy is an example of what has been wrong with TFC this season. This is the sort of player we need to let go of if we expect to improve in this league. You can of course add Harden and his buddy Borman to that list, the faster these posers leave the sooner this team will improve.

Apparently he looked really good in their Newcastle exhibition, best player on the pitch. He's more a Brazilian hired gun than a journeyman; like Emerson and Washington and some of the other recent offensive threats who didn't quite crack the euro top drawer.

TFC is 3-4-4 historically against KC. Given our overall poor record against all teams, I think you're right that this one one of our best records against particular teams, but still not in our favour.

If the midfield is Frings, JDG and Dunfield then I think Frings will sit over the back four with JGD and Dunfield playing the right and left sides in a more advanced role.

The best back 4 imo is Ecks on the right with Iro and Viator in the middle with either Yourass or Borman (neither of the 2 are good enough) on the left.

Up top Koevermans in the middle and I'd start with Soolsma and Martina. The only reason why I suggest these two on the wings is becasue they may have the best understanding of their role in the 4-3-3.

Subs: Harden, Plata, Santos, Johnson, Gargan, Yourass/Borman, Sturgis

Two questions.
What did Iro and Viator do on Wednesday to convince anyone to put them together as a central defensive pairing ? It's a recipe for disaster.
Yourrassowsky as a defender...or anywhere for that matter..that's a joke, right ?
Johnson has to play ahead of Martina.

I picked them by default. If there's no Iro or Viator that means Harden plays. If no Yourass then that means Borman.

Viator's native position is CB. I think calling it a recipe for disaster is a bit harsh, based on one game, when he had signed with the team the same day, and been asked to play out of position with players he was unfamiliar with.

I hope Dunfield and/or JDG can play today.
