What's the quality of play like in Ligue 2? He seems to have spend most of his career there.

Anyone think "Viator" sounds like a dirty sex move...???

Either way, get'em in the lienup and lets see our new roster in action...

My guess is it's like mid-to-lower 3rd tier in England. He's a depth player.

Don't know anything about him, so I'll be interested to see his debut.

This is one kick ass island

Football (soccer) is popular in Guadeloupe. Thierry Henry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thierry_Henry), a star of the French National Team (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_national_football_team) and MLS club New York Red Bulls (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Red_Bulls), often visits as his father Antoine was originally from the island. William Gallas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Gallas), whose parentage is Guadeloupean, visits the island when not playing for Tottenham or the French National team. Lilian Thuram (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lilian_Thuram), a former star football defender for France (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_national_football_team) and FC Barcelona (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Barcelona), was born in Guadeloupe. The French national team and Everton F.C. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everton_F.C.) striker Louis Saha (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Saha) is also of Guadeloupean descent, as is Kettering Town F.C. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kettering_Town_F.C.) goalkeeper Willy Gueret (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willy_Gueret). Pascal Chimbonda (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pascal_Chimbonda) of Queens Park Rangers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queens_Park_Rangers) was also born in Guadeloupe. Inter Milan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inter_Milan) star Jonathan Biabiany (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Biabiany) is also of Guadeloupean descent. Stéphane Auvray (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St%C3%A9phane_Auvray) is a Guadeloupean footballer who currently plays for Sporting Kansas City (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sporting_Kansas_City) in Major League Soccer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_League_Soccer). Ronald Zubar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Zubar), who plays for Wolverhampton Wanderers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolverhampton_Wanderers) in the Barclays Premier League (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barclays_Premier_League) is born in Guadeloupe.

I presume so, unless we are planning on annexing Guadeloupe.

i'm not sure you can compare French and English lower leagues, totally different styles of play. I'd say it's not too far off the championship really, Ligue Une has some good ball play.

Hopefully he has a little bit of pace. Whoever plays beside Iro is going to need to cover for him, a lot.

They say that if everyone from Guadeloupe played for Guadeloupe (and if Guadeloupe was recognized by concacaf or fifa) they would have more than likely won the world cup already!

^And conversely, if France wasn't able to invade it's dependencies and former colonies for players, it likely wouldn't have won any :D

EDIT: Just stating a point, I'm not trying to fan any flames here.

Having watched Ligue 2 matches live, I can tell you that it's not far from MLS in quality. More technical than MLS, just as or more physical, but less athletic. Somewhat more through the centre play, less on the wings. For comparison, I think the top teams of the Championship are better than Ligue 2, though the style is quite different.

The "technical" part would appeal to Winter. The "physical" part is good for a defender.

Most likely a starter for us for the rest of the year

Looks like a journeyman. All of his transfers have been for free.
Probably do for this year (hopefully Cann will be back next year).
