more on his release

MONTREAL – Kevin Hatchi's time with the Montreal Impact was shortlived.
The French central defender, who joined the club in February, was released on Wednesday, the team announced in a statement.
“We looked thoroughly at the situation before taking this decision,” said Impact sporting director Nick De Santis. “Kevin Hatchi had certain qualities, but he didn’t fit in the group. We took this decision for the well-being of the team. All our players need to walk in the same direction, especially when the team is going through difficult times.”
The rookie player started eight games this season and scored one goal.

Love how he's called a Rookie when he's 29 and has played on multiple pro clubs...sigh.

How many International spots do we have? I don't want to waste it on journeyman defender who came from rival team.

Not good enough for the impact? Sounds like fools gold.

I'll reserve judgment. I always thought Wes Charles was better than anything we had in 2008 so maybe there's more to this than meets the eye.

From a CBC article...

"No, we are not signing Kevin Hatchi. There are no plans to bring him into the club,” said Paul Mariner, the team’s director of player development.

Personality issues.
Just what we need ....

Seriously, I think we can get a little more creative than this if all we're looking for is a warm body. Glad Mariner shot it down.

How about closing the thread since Paul Mariner has denied the rumour and the heading of the thread is misleading since this isn't going to happen?

I support closing the thread. I went through all the stages of free agent signing (curiousity, disbelief, optimism, hope, cynicism, denial, reality) for nothing.
