Guys ... Eckersley has been our best player.

Has only played a handful of games at CB prob in his whole life (some games at Man U reserves).

He's doing a great job imo given this fact. Save for the first goal which he overplayed the ball.

He's strong on the tackle, organizes not only the defense but the mids as well, communicates and is passing well out of the back.

We're having some serious problems in the midfield with Sturgis and Tchani ... Borman is weak physically and tactically ... Gargan is Gargan ... and Martina is disrupting a lot of our offensive moves by ... what else is new ... hanging onto the ball too long.

The first 30 mins were solid for everyone I thought. ... last 15 was TFC as you were.

Ya I agree with this completely. The midfield has in many ways left our defense exposed (although the defending hasn't been great).

Tchani and Yourassowski are simply not running to play box to box like we want them to. They are playing like attacking midfielders and even worse neither pushes the pace when the get the ball. I would seriously bench both their asses at half. Disgrace to see them run so little. Fucking De Rosario had more work rate than that, and he actually had enough going forward to merit some tradeoff.

Sturgis is positionally in the right spots but he's not getting his foot in there to break things up. Playing too soft.

The fact of the matter is that New York has a far more talented club on the pitch on tonight, and TFC's chances of earning a result with a depleted lineup was a longshot at best. If TFC had a healthy lineup on the pitch including our new DP's, I think we would measure up very well against New York, or any other MLS club for that matter. Unfortunately, tonight TFC will need a lot of hustle and and some lucky bounces to have any hope of earning a point.

Not only that but some basic stuff (that Twellman pointed out) like spacing between our mids and backline has been amateurish. The "4-3-3" was playing like a "4-1-5" with Yourass and Tchani playing so far advanced and never tracking back. The manager needs to identify that and make the adjustments to correct it. DURING THE GAME and QUICKLY

We can have 5 deisgnated players, if our tactics are going to be this shit, no points are going to be forthcoming.
