View Full Version : Pre-Game NCC Final: Whitecaps @ TFC Thread

Saturday is the most important game of the season, representing potential salvation for TFC and their supporters during a very difficult season. It would be very interesting to see if TFC is capable of enjoying success in the CCL this season, particularly with a suddenly revamped roster.

However, it will be a difficult task to stave off a desperate Whitecaps club that is hungry for their first NCC title. Vancouver will field a stronger lineup on Saturday and be even more motivated after last night's result, but TFC will also have reinforcements in the lineup including our most prolific scorer, so it should be a fairly even match.

Among the likely scorelines, TFC needs a 0-0 draw, a 1-0 victory, or a 2-1 victory to win the tournament in regulation.

Huge game. This game feels like the most important game of the season because with a win we can salvage the season.

not only that, but it gives us a huge fuck you to the whitecaps. i can only imagine the shit we'd hear if they take the series like "we already beat you once, then they re-schedule the game so we can beat you again".

any word on injured players coming back?

I also want to win in regulation - just so you guys can bust out "....you can trash your f*cking city when you loose..." again...

The Cops in front of 112 were busting a gut laughing at that one...

Epic!

We were doing it in 110 last night too. The casuals were loving it and singing along.

This an important game for both teams so should be an intense game!

FYI: It is going to be hot, but there's a chance of thunder showers.

It should be noted that tomorrow's crowd will be less due to Halladay pitching down the road for the first time in 2 years. Both games on Sportsnet.

They can practice with the team fortunately. Strangely, I'm glad they have to wait, they will get a chance to integrate with the team a little and also settle their personal situation. Should start rested, clear-headed and focused.

1 of these three things HAS to happen

1. TFC win
2. Drunken Teen, Wet white shirt, Boob flashing
3. TFC win. . . . . by a margin of 2, with all goals scored from the run of play.

The crowd being affected by the Blue Jay game should not be an excuse, if the game does not draw well tomorrow blame it on the almost five seasons of a crap product on the field not the Jay game.

of course there is. it's called cutting off the supply to him. No Chiumiento, no service for Hassli. This is putting it a bit simply but without Chiumiento, vancouver's attack is so much less dangerous.

The roster situation is looking up...

The possible additions of Tchani, de Guzman, Maicon and Gordon could very much alter Toronto’s outlook for the all-important Saturday clash that will decide which Canadian team will be the country’s entrant at the 2011/12 CONCACAF Champions League. All four players missed Wednesday’s win, as did Attakora and Peterson.

Head coach Aron Winter said Vancouver is “a very good team” and he will approach the final with utmost respect for his opponents. On his end, he is buoyed by the fitness gains made by his missing starters and hoped to unleash them against the Whitecaps.

“It’s possible that Jacob, Alan, Maicon, Tony, Julian are all back (tomorrow)”

Didn't give Vancouver a sniff Wednesday, let's do the same tomorrow.

Any word on if they're bringing down more support as it is a weekend game?

I'm aboslutely not trying to make an excuse. I'm just telling you there will be hundreds of people who have TFC tickets that will be sitting in Rogers Centre tomorrow. And there will be 20,000 - 30,000 people who would have watched it on TV watching the Jays. I'm not saying that they should have kicked off at 4pm (though they could have), I'm just stating a reality. Tomorrow is the biggest Jays game of the year. Fact.

I know Sportsnet shows the game live online, and I know there's a repeat at 9 pm, but does anyone know if they show the game online afterward, like on-demand style? I realize they probably don't but I'm stuck at work till 5 and waiting until 9 to try and not hear the result will be tough.

This canadasoccer stream won't be geo-blocked (only available to watch from inside Canada)?

And I also can't find any hint of coming live stream at sportsnet.ca.
