The Fan590 just reported that as others have suggested, Winter will retain his role as Technical Director and De Clerk will assume the head coaching position.

Winter has never seemed comfortable in the media spotlight, and De Klerk seems to have a more charismatic and engaging personality condusive to coaching. Perhaps this might benefit the club moving forward.

Tchani is generation adidas so his salary doesn't count against the cap. As for JDG, if he stays and gets his act together, we could see some inspiring football from TFC in the second half of the season.

I have, hes been a huge part of Bremen, their form and their success (this last season not so much, bigger issues regarding defence and too much trust in shitty players *Cough*Arnautovic*Cough*). Schaaf and Allofs have a thing for youth, hence him being cast aside, he can definitely still contribute and id go so far as to say he could be one of the best if not top 5 defensive mids (id say box to box, a la shalrie joseph) in the league. Ill be shocked if hes not. Dude will die for the team too. Definitely a player you want on your side, not afraid to get physical.

Agreed with all of this - Frings is getting older for sure, but still the undisputed leader at Bremen last season (despite the lack of success on the field).

I've been watching this game a long time and Frings is one of my all time favourite players. I couldn't be happier that he's joined our club. He is the epitome of a leader on the pitch.
