First game of a 5 games in 17 days... And TFC sucks at Mormon town. I'd be pleased with a respectable loss. Like 2-0 RSL or something

Yeah getting nothing at this game. de Guzman, Gordon and Tchani hopefully will return.

Expecting a spanking, 4-0 or something like that.

Who knows, when expectations are at their very lowest, TFC sometimes does something weird and salvages a tie or something, and we feel all warm & fuzzy again for a few days. I doubt it though.

TFC tends not to follow any pattern. I'm thinking an 0-1 victory.

I was looking over the table and noticed something depressing.

If we lose in RSL (which is likely even tho Real is going through a dry spell), and KC and Vancouver draw, we will be 17th out of 18 teams, with the team below us 1 pt lower but with 2 games in hand.

We will have the worst PPG in the league and the worst GD.

In other words, we need to take a point minimum from RSL and hope that KC and VWFC draw in order to stay ahead of them in the standings. A win by either side and we're still looking at a tumble in the standings.

Ugh...

Gordon is very much the key there. Tchani might help but not in any way pivotal if Sturgis is OK again and with JDG it's really a question of whether his head is still in it at this point. If it's not it's better to stick with the players who are committed to the cause and actually want to be around next season (assuming they don't get offered something really good in a top Euro league obviously).

Beyond that I always had it drummed into me as a kid that you should go into every game with a never say die mentality because you never know what might happen over 90 minutes to turn things unexpectedly in your favour. Don't understand the constant defeatism from some people here and hope it is a vibe that doesn't extend to what happens within the actual team. Maybe it makes defeat more palatable in some way to go in believing victory is impossible but even if there is just a 10% chance you have to go in as a true believer to make it actually happen. It's Salt Lake. We come away with a point and at least a goal I'm content.

If the rumours are correct, we may not see JDG again.

If the rumours are correct, we may not see JDG again.

If that's the case they best get their reason ready. There's no excuse for him not to play. He's not hurt or tired form the Gold Cup. Unless he's gone and if that's the case then let's hurry up and get a replacement, please and thank you.

This has become my theory of hope...

I figure, we seem to follow no script or set norm - so when everyone thinks we'll lose, we pull off some kind of result...

That's what I've heard...on the Footy Show they said he's as good as gone as well..

If Gordon is healthy, the club is capable of delivering a scrappy performance on the road and earning a draw.

LOL! As long a there is at least one letter that is not capped in your entire post, then everything else can be capped. For example...

I AM CAPPING THIS RIGHT NOW BUT BECAUSE MY PREVIOUS SENTENCE HAS LOWER CASE LETTERS THE SYSTEM WILL ACCEPT THIS.

We can't even score against shite teams never mind a defensive powerhouse like RSL...We lose 2-0, only because RSL is missing 4 forwards...otherwise it would be 4-0...

Sure you don't mean "No GOL TV"...heard they are planning a name change in honour of this wonderful TFC season.

RSL will throw us a proper beating. 3-0, maybe 3-1.

Question: Would you be 'secretly' disappointed if TFC either didn't loose by as much or didn't loose the match?

people will totally be pissed if we get a tie

Roogsy

The problem is that with a tie, we are almost assured to drop to 17th out of 18 teams. Psychologically speaking, that's gonna set people off.

Yes. I'm a Real Salt Lake fan in disguise. You've found me out.

Before each game, I try to make a rational prediction as to the outcome, given all available information, past performance and current form of each side. In this instance, a heavy loss for TFC seems to be the most likely outcome.

>>Reds Look To Rub Some Salt In The Wound

Above is the headline for the preview e-mail sent from the team. This might be the greatest of the lot. (And it has some serious competition.) Is there a 15-year-old intern manning this job or what?

With Salt Lake's striker shortage it should be an very interesting game as we have the same problem. I would not mind seeing another performance like the last one in LA...

And where exactly will JDG go at this stage; some second-tier European league? He might regret not putting out a bit more while here, if that is the case. With the way he performed in Toronto he will be lucky to get a fuckin game in the USL. Good riddance son.

Team stays at Sheraton, just ran into Malcom, Claudio and Cory. Cordon (I think) was chilling in the lobby.
