watching footy on tv this year is a joke, I grabbed basic cable and gol to get TFC, then Canada was only on SN1 so I added that, now TSN... had to upgrade my package for the channel. oi, can't wait to cancel all this at end of season

I just cant watch a match in a wee stream screen

my thoughts exactly.

to answer your question it is 3. one free header, one off the top of the attacker's head and out of danger and one chested down by the attacker. shameful defending at the professional level.

Yes, it's on TSN.

TSN's lowest rating of the year I bet... ;)

My concern is his strength. He doesn't look like he could handle a Kei Kamara type

Soccerpro

Henry gets caught out of position occasionally but we forget he's only 18 and man is he ever athletic. There's reason to be optimistic about Henry's future with TFC.

Auzzy
06-15-2011, 07:27 PM
Not sure, but would Santos have gotten 2 points for hitting the corner flag?

It's Taylor Twellman doing the colour commentary.

I like him simply because he says TFC and not Toronto FC like forrest.

Wow, the stadium is so quiet you can really hear the players tonight.

Everyone in the area is watching the Bruins!

On that note, CBC news had a reporter in Boston, carrying on about how pumped up everyone is. This was at 5:20 p.m.
He was in front of a string of bars and the area was barren. Pretty hilarious.
Camera man then zoomed in on an 8X12 "poster" on the door of a bar that said go Bruins, and reporter carried on about how that proves the enthusiasm.

I'm sure lots of Bostonians etc. are into it, but was funny nonetheless.

I think Taylor Twellman is doing a great job with the commentary. This is the best MLS broadcast, commentator wise, I've ever heard. No B.S, just straight up tells it like it is. I wish he did every TFC game. 10x better than De Vos or Forrest.

Dkolish3

For Toronto less long balls and more possession, basically play like you did the last ten-fifteen minutes and we will get points, or we could just see whose defence screws up first on a long ball

All things considered, the way this game went, I'm happy with a tie, away game after a cross-country trip. Yeah TFC had a bunch of chances & should have put one away, but so did NE.

Ill take two ties on the road. Now if they could win at home that would be something.

There was a ten minute moment were TFC looked really good early in the 2nd half. Perhaps the first time Ive ever thought they looked like they could play sexy football.

Point is better than nothing. Too bad Gordon didn't nail that header from the top of the six yard box. Zavarise looked not bad before the red, which was soft but more or less deserved based on both incidents. If I were Attakora I'd be concerned as to whether Henry is soon going to steal his thunder as the young local player who gets all the hype in the media. No way should JDG walk back into this lineup just because he's a DP. Playing time has to be earned by everybody and his last performance was an absolute howler.

Auzzy

I thought they also had a good spell in the 1st half (after a VERY ping-pongy start). 57% possession in the 1st half for TFC, and not much of the mind-numbing type between defenders & the goalie.

Auzzy
06-15-2011, 09:08 PM
I would like to add, Cochrane doesn't look so dumb with the Sturgis trade now, does he... Sure he needed quite a bit of time to learn the way Winter wants him to play, but he's a decent mid-priced pickup, at least off the bench or when other players are away or injured.

Just one example, difference from JDG: Sturgis did a bad pass in the middle, gave the ball away, but then sprinted back full-speed to break up the ensuing NE possession. JDG gives the ball away in that area, he might jog back to have a look what's happening back there. Sure JDG is the much better player, but not DP-level-better.

ag futbol
06-15-2011, 09:12 PM
Funny a lot of people seem to be pointing to JDG but I'll put the same weight on Tchani. The guy is an anchor (not the good kind) when trying to move the ball forward and simply takes too long to make bad decisions.

Yourassowski might actually be the short-term answer for us at AM. He seems to understand what the role requires even though he doesn't have the complete package to play the spot.
