Good comments on Gordon. I think he dispels the myth that you can't have affordable players playing in the 4-3-3. He has strengths and weaknesses and Winter's style of play maximizes what you can get out of him.

From all the scenarios I've seen IF the USA wins, Canada has to win by more than 1 in order to advance.

Canada advances with a win. The score doesn't matter. If they finish in 3rd with 6 points they will be the best 3rd place team regardless.

The other 2 third place teams are on 4 points.
