went down to yhe academy vs london city game and it was a good match.
the final was 2-2 with TFC coming back with 4 minute to go!
We played very well for having a man sent of for half the game!!!
there are some real players on this squad, so the future looks bright!!!!
I cant remember the guys name who scored 2 for us though?
We actually had good support in the stands, we did not chant but we were more vocal than london fans!!
i guess there were 10-15 TFC supporters there but only 2 RPB's

Good result, way to go coming back the way they did, TFC-A has been enjoyable to watch this year, what was the overall attendence, I am curious, how does London City draw most of the time?

Nice, but too bad MLS doesn't allow teams to sign their academy players unless they have been part of academy for 2+ years.

that was their first points of the year wasn't it?
also is that true about the whole mls academy signing thing? That's balls so we have to wait and sign some of the players on the u-16 team?

Future looks bright? I don't know about that. Before the TFC Academy game, London City has been pasted by every team in the league. They were 0-8-0 with 0 points with 4 GF and 33 GA (-29 GD). If anything, the Academy should be pretty embarrassed by the result. It was City's first point of the year. Yikes.

I like the Academy team - it’s an important element of the club and they been fun to watch. However, as pointed out above, it’s unlikely too many of the U18 team are going to make it to the senior roster. It’s not only the MLS draconian rules about signing players from the academy teams (although there are ways around the rules), it’s also that the development set-up in the MLS is so unattractive to potential players. Why sign for 13K a year when you’ve got a shot at a NCAA scholarship? For example, Daniel Tannous, who scored both goals for the U18 team last night, is going to the University of Maine in the fall.

London City was definitely a little better than that when I spent a summer playing for them in '97. We weren't "great", but we at least were competitive.

I was at the match last night with RPB London. The kid playing centerback really inpressed me. He made alot of solid tackels and always ended up with the ball. The London City team was mostly made up of really young players with the exception of a few older guys. Attendance was about the same as at it for everyother match. It's a shame that the best players in London don't want anything to do with City. They could have a really competitive team (for a CPSL squad), but London City soccer politics is something else.

TFC-A is supposed to be made up of the best players the OSA could assemble.

London City is a very young team made up of local product.

By rights, TFC-A should not lose that game. Of course, anything can happen in 1 game.

I think the TFC-A team is starting to get figured out. I've spoken to some CSL people and everyone is reasonably impressed with the athleticism of that team and there are some decent players but tactically, they are very easy to play against if you have the horses to run with them. Plus, their finishing is really quite mediocre/bad.

Now that established CSL teams are getting fit and in midseason form, most of them are finding its getting easier and easier to play the TFC-A. This is what I predicted early but I thought I'd eat crow after they got off to a quick start.

I'm still a big supporter of the TFC Academy and I personally don't care if they get beat every week. Its about player development, not wins. What disappoints me is that they are not trying to develop the players to play any type of ball possession game. They are as Route 1 as it gets. I would have hoped that the coaching staff would be pushing them to play a more modern style of football.
