TFC aim to add to squad

Reds interested in Huckerby and Dickov

Toronto FC Director of Soccer Mo Johnston will hold talks with the agent of Darren Huckerby and Paul Dickov over the next few days. The duo watched Toronto's Nutrilite Canadian Championship game against Vancouver Whitecaps at BMO Field on Tuesday, and Dickov trained with the team on Thursday. Dickov is a 35 year old striker who started his career at Arsenal and also played in the English Premier League with Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City. Huckerby also played in the EPL with Leeds United and Manchester City. He has played in the English Championship with Norwich City since 2003.

Danny Dichio established himself as the Footballing King of Toronto. May 12th 2007, at the 24th min. of the game vs. Chicago Fire Dichio, brushed off a defender and converted an Edson Buddle pass from the edge of the 6yrd. box passed a diving Chicago keeper. From that very moment, the very second in time, Danny Dichio catapulted himself to the top of the food chain, and became TORONTO FC!

TFC after Ruiz
By STAFF Fri, July 4, 2008

Toronto FC is rumoured to be in line to get forward Carlos Ruiz in a three-way MLS trade.
The deal would see the Chicago Fire get Brian McBride, whose rights are held by TFC. Chicago would send defender William Conde to Los Angeles.

Swagger to stagger
By: Ryan Johnston, Sportsnet

I was cleverly called the Oracle of the Obvious (http://www.redpatchboys.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=2622) after I pointed out that TFC has a bad habit of taking the long way when it comes to fixing problems. I like the moniker and after a three-day hiatus from TFC on the shores of Lake Huron the oracle has a new foretelling:

Expect a signing

It's always a guessing game when you show up for training at BMO Field. In reality, it could be called 'Name that player'. There's always a new guy in town. Who is No. 37? Most of the time it doesn't matter; and Thursday morning the mystery man was wearing No. 26. Only it was no mystery. Hardcore supporters will know that ex-Manchester City man Paul Dickov has been seen around town this week. On this day he was wearing Toronto's training blues for the first time.

Hmm, so the wholoe Ruiz saga could actually be a more legitimate rumor than we first thought.
