Anyone have any news on who we are playing this summer..or if we are playing one this summer...

alot of of clubs heading to North America this summer wonder if we are in the mix?

Would of loved us to play against a team like Newcastle.. QPR...or even Leeds...

teams like that interest me more then some top Clubs

I'd rather we scrapped the friendlies, especially in what is normally a busy period.

Exactly.

It's bad enough that we have to watch our team get pounded by other MLS clubs, we don't need to import teams to beat on us...especially when it will lead to fatigue, possibly injuries etc.

I think there sould scrap the all-star game too or move it to the end of the season and the the game after the mls cup.

^Seriously, you object to friendlies on the basis that our schedule is too busy?

Too busy for what?

If you don't want the team distracted from the march to 17th place, or you seriously think this team would go anywhere in CCL, you need to see a doctor.

Would be better if 2 seperate "big name" teams played eachother. At BMO Field however, as Rogers Center is not a good venue at all.

Just my two thoughts.

Considering the large inventory TFC FO already has of unsold tickets for the rest of the season the last thing they want is to have to sell more tickets. And teams like Newcastle, QPR, Leeds, etc. don't really inspire the casuals, particularly at the prices the FO retards would deem reasonable.

That being said I'm sure they'd jump at the opportunity at another Real Madrid type friendly. There are enough fanboys of teams like that to ensure a sellout. We will probably be awarded with our $15 loyalty discount again just to appease us.

Regardless of the stature as club, QPR would be so cool to see at BMO.

I'd like to see a Dichio testamonial or lesser light Euro. team as part of a charity match.

I wouldn't mind BMO hosting a friendly.. between two teams that aren't TFC though. Similar to the Benfica/Celtic match.

Our players need to focus on getting their sht together... we, on the other hand, could very well use the distraction.

Didn't the FO last Fall say that they would scrap the friendly and offer the home opener at no cost for this season because Season Seats sales were lagging behind?

They scrapped it from the season ticket package.

They could still schedule one if they wanted though.

Just suit the Academy in TFC kits and let them play the friendlies. My two cents.

I wouldn't mind a lower premiership club, or even a top championship side.
My dream would be Rangers though. The real scottish champions, just please no Celtic.

The players dont deserve a friendly against a top team.

Im sick of watching our mediocre, despondant players, deciding to surprise us when the big boys come to town with their scouts in tow.

Shit, I think I remember Lombardo scoring against Aston Villa ffs.

Bring in Rushden or Newport or some other smaller club to school them. It might convince a few players to track back occasionally, run off the ball etc.

If the Rangers came it would be magic for my father-in-law...

I'd like to see a notable name club - since we're going to play a friendly anyway, I might as well see some of these storied clubs live in the process...

You know what I'd LOVE to see at BMO......

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troph%C3%A9e_des_Champions

It's a 'Super Cup' played between the winner of the French Ligue1 and the 'Coupe de France' (like the FA Cup)

it was held in Montreal in 2009 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_Troph%C3%A9e_des_Champions) and had 35,000 people show up.

Why would I like to see something like this at BMO?

1 - it's not TFC playing a big club's B-team
2 - it's an actual competitive game
3 - it's France (but really, it could be anyone else)

Ya I would like something like that...

Could be any number of European nations that have this kind of competition...

Like you say, its an actual competitive game that means something...
