What the hell were those things? Midges? We literally couldn't concentrate, they were swarming us so completely.

They were so thick in the lower part of 222 that we had to find empty seats elsewhere.

I suspect they lay eggs on the plastic seats and hatched because of the sudden warmth (we get them on the slide in our backyard). I hope BMO mgmt figures out how to spray for or otherwise get rid of those, I wouldn't want to sit through that again.

This is second or third time this happened in the history of the team. I would say this was the worst it's been.

They were layered all over the steel railings in the top of 111.

This dude 3 seats beside me in a white jersey had easily 40+ on his back, but nobody told him. True story.

When the bugs stopped flying into my eyes at the 60th minute or so, I was able to concentrate on the game, and I fell asleep.

If the bugs are back like that again, I think this will have to become a FO issue. I was in 220, and they were so think at times you couldn't watch the game.

Yeah, I think they followed the smell up here.

the bugs hatch every spring from the huge secret vat of rancid beer that is connected to the Carlsberg draft taps

The handful of KKKrew supporters that showed up raised their arms and the result was a bug infestation.

That was the worst it's ever been...

If you complain to the FO, dont mention how many you ended up eating, they will probably charge you a dollar each for them....

It was kinda funny from the east side. During the anthems it looked like everyone one the west side was waving at us. It was, by appearances, the most spirit I've seen out of the west side. Perhaps they should have been biting to make the west yell a bit!

More bugs!

224 was infested. Hundreds of the little bastards! Looked like mosquitos to me - the Ontario provincial bird! Just very, very small!

As bad as the no-see-ums in Charleston!

Top of 110 was bad as well until the wind came up a bit.
Two women in front of us were picking them out of each others hair... it looked like a National Geographic special

when I first read the thread title I thought it was about Columbus and DC fans coming to BMO.

Top of 225 was ridiculously bad. Literally thousands of these bugs.

Moved to the top of 110 where it was much, much better, but still it was disgusting.

There was a bald guy sitting in front of me, with so many on his head it looked like HAIR! no one told him either (not even his girlfriend!)

220 at the top was pretty bad, a lady came down with her french fries and they were crawling with those bugs. (mmmm french flies)

She asked the usher if he thought she could get a refund on her tickets. Usher sent her to customer service.

They sell Cider at BMO? Where? There's a Strongbow banner at Gate 3 but every "employee" I ask says they don't serve it anywhere in the stadium. (After they give me a rude look for interupting their conversation and daring to ask something of them.) It's an odd banner to hang if true or the knuckledraggers have been lying to me.

I think the immortal line from the ZNN reporter in Starship Troopers sums it up:

"It's an ugly planet, a BUG planet! YEAAGGGHHHH!!!!!!!"

They used to have it all over BMO but this year there is only one chick who serves it at the carlsberg tent area. She said she insists that they stock her with Strong Bow every game. She is the only one who has it apparently.

There needs to be a Cider or Caesar option for people who don't drink beer. I think most people can agree that Smirnoff ice is nasty.

I remember back in season 1 they served this tasty margarita-like beverage in a stall on the west side concourse. Alas, it is gone now.

Exactly.

That's what happens by the lake when it rains for a couple of days and then it shoots up to like 19 degrees.

Still not as bad as the aphid attack downtown from about 6-7 years ago.

Was initially in the upper reaches of 127 and it was pretty bad, but moved down with the NEE and no further problems.

no bugs in top of 105 on saturday (other than yellow buggy away supporters at top of 104) ... been through it before though at bmo in previous years when sitting in south or west side, not fun ... i wouldn't have even known the bugs were back if guy beside me didn't point out all the waving arms and flapping scarves on the west side, which was kinda funny to see
