Does a trophy make a rivalry?

Many supporters have always found the idea of a rilvary between the capitals of Ohio and Ontario as an awkward fit.

The Trillium Cup may have started as a marketing exercise, but fans on both sides agree it has evolved into something much more than that.

Really? It's still a marketing exercise to me.

Oh man. I watched that Mullens hit on Zakuani last night. I'm pretty sure I saw his shin snap like a twig. They did not show the replay. All the players were from both sides were tapping his shoulder on his guerney(sp?) ride off the pitch. It was bad. My guess it makes big news today.

i hated these dudes before the marketing thing, which really only happened in 3rd year (if my memory serves correct), i definitely see your opinion on this as both teams tried (and still make an attempt) to push this rivalry but the bile and hatred is real, for me it has everything to do with Bill Archer and his legion of morons

Shame for Zakuani... his number one attribute was his blinding speed. That's likely not coming back; here's hoping that Steve can make it back himself.

Reminds me too much of Tyrone Prothro; future NFL star had his career end in college after breaking the same two bones.

Ya, that's quite the headline. I was wondering WTF when I read it.

The Cordon family picture found the emotional side of me...proud parents, smiling siblings.
This guy will be great for us in the future...maybe near future.:)

Yeah...great story. I can't imagine the pride I would feel if my son was announced in the starting lineup.

Feel good story. Hopefully he continues to progress and his dad gets to watch bloom into a great pro.

Toronto FC ookstosmooth roughedges (http://www.nationalpost.com/todays-paper/Toronto+ookstosmooth+roughedges/4663518/story.html)

Thought it was a new player signing too, until I realized it's just really poor copy reading by the National Post editors.
