He's the CEO of Ing Direct Canada - based in Toronto. ... not Dutch.

Arkadi Kuhlmann is Canadian, graduated from Western, experience in the U.S. However, the company is very "Dutch flavoured" and it's parent company is Dutch. I'm sure any Dutch link would spark interest.

If Winter wants to start saving more, he should start saving more.

MLSE Controls naming rights, they just sold them to BMO
When that deal is up..they are free to go to market again

Your telling me after the deal is done in 5 years the city gets nothing for the new deal?
From my understanding, MLSE controls the naming rights for 10 years. Thats what they bought.

^I think the way it works is that MLSE has the management contract at BMO for 10 years, which includes everything including naming rights. Naming rights were resold by MLSE to BMO for 5 years (although I think this may have been extended last summer, can't remember).

Also the way in which MLSE and the City share revenue is complex, it's a different percentage on every revenue line item (food, merchandise, naming etc)

the way it's worded in the original agreement between MLSE and the city, MLSE gets management and naming rights for 20 years. So the city doesn't get any more money over that 20 years if suddenly in 10 years the stadium changed its name to ING Stadium or something.

In return for its contribution, MLSEL secures the right,
over twenty years, to manage and participate in the revenue from the stadium and the right to market the naming rights for the stadium to a third party.

Absolutely brutal deal for the city.
God love Miller and his love for the game, but in this regard he was an arse.
