Hopefully Portland shows a good crowd, we need more TOR/VAN/SEA's....and less SJ/HOU's...

I love the fact that we'll be at BMO 3 times in 10 days. Big stretch for us!

Last week I'd have agreed but Colorado looked shite on the weekend and are away to what is still the hardest working team in the league. Salt Lake has Johnson the Canadian and Captain out but I think they'll handle Colorado.

No Landon or Kirvoski for LA. This game can be ours.

I'd figure Chicago to spoil Portland's inaugural opener.

Considering how RSL reserves ripped apart the Revs, yeah. I'd say 2-1 RSL, though with this being a bit of rivalry game, I expect a spirited game.

I think ether Cummings or Folan will pot one consolation goal while being teared apart by another RSL reserve.

RSL is focusing on winning the CCL title.

All that smack talk from RSL and it's still 0-0 in the 80th. Colorado don't have 2 of their best players to boot. Been a good tilt so far.

oh man, i turned it off at like the 89th minute.

it was a good competitive match between defending MLS Cup champs and Champion League finalist. The league should've promoted the hell out of this match like MLB does Yanks v. Red Sox.

What's wrong with Houston? They get about 12k in a non-SSS and provide a decent atmosphere. Even SJ is mediocre rather than terrible. I think the real dregs are Chivas/NER/Dallas/Colorado. I would not mind if the league contracted NE and Chivas.

I expected more from Salt Lake but Colorado did well to get their competitive edge back after last weeks debacle. Unlucky to get through 90 vs RSL to lose what should've been a point for them.

Wasn't that the third game in about a week for RSL? They were down in Costa Rica on a Tuesday (I think), then New england on the weekend, then back home for a Wednesday game.

^ They are under extra pressure for CCL but only 2 more games. The rest of the Yanks have started the US open cup already so they've get meatier schedules as well.

For our inaugural home game? That happened 5 yrs ago. They sounded great. Credit well deserved but all in good measure. The 12th man made a difference no doubt. Portland had their first one taken from Cooper but he took one back with his "Manus Dei".

And plus, not to rain on their rainy parade but Chicago's second goal was the GOTG. Magnificent. All in all congrats to a deserved win for deserving supporters.

A scare for Portland at the end -- Dallas got two goals near the end, one from Fereira, to make it close. Then the young Portland keeper made a wonderful save in injury time to preserve a 3-2 win.

Houston beat NE at home 1-0 on a controversial play -- Hunter Freeman and Matt Reis were on the goal line and both jumped as a high ball came down; Reis missed grabbing the ball, which hit slightly off Freeman's hand into the net. Reis complained he was obstructed.
Houston pretty much dominated tho, so it was a fair result.

Fort York Redcoat
04-18-2011, 12:20 PM
Absolutely agree on the Houston result. Freeman's "challenge" on the keeper was nothing to obstruct. The keeper Reis put it in himself really.

The Portland Dallas match was great in that Portland had a twelfth man to help the team out but Dallas showed the spark they had all previous game vs Colorado. There second goal was the sweetest of the match for me.

Bay day for Chicago. Barrett grabbing his first one against his old old team couldn't have raised Chicago's spirits either..

Columbus and Kansas looked pretty even on chances but Columbus's just showed a better quality. Rodgers will be a handful this weekend.

NY had an amazing game vs SJ who don't look like they're improving since our draw with them but it turned into the Henry show with him finally scoring after so many chances.

Philly eked out that win with a dire looking crowd watching 2 teams far from their best but at least it looked even.

Vancouver Chivas? Not much in it and no score was a fair result for both.
