It seems like the USL isn't all that inferior.
As well as our loss the other day:
Red Shiite lost to Crystal Palace (USL _ Div 2)
Houston lost to Charleston
Seattle beat Chivas.

Chicago, NE and Dallas won their games against USL sides.

But overall that was a pretty impressive day for the USL. Clearly they are getting up for these games.

On the other side of the coin Portland Timbers lost to Hollywood United FC...
An amateur team who play in the Coast Soccer League....

Ps, the Timbers beat us 4-2.

I guess that's just football.

Crappy teams almost always rise up to the occasion when given a chance to beat a team from a higher league. That is just football. It's not necessarily the result that people were upset about, it's the fact that it's a Cup game, the fact that the majority of the players on the pitch looked like they'd rather be elsewhere. That's why people are upset so much more than just a normal loss.

and this is my MLS and USL should have a relegation/promotion deal between the 2 leagues

^^ Except it would probably kill off most of the MLS teams once they get relegated.

Ex. Kansas, Columbus and even NY. Imagine they got relegated, nobody goes to the games, they lose more money and can't compete. Gonzo.

Also, I think there's some major differences between USL-1 and MLS. MLS pays player's salaries and I believe USL teams pay their own.

you mean 'crappy' as in playing in a lower division?

It's hard to call the team in first place of a 2nd division "crappy"
when they would be the most eligible team for promotion to the
1st division league if that's how it worked over here.

I was making a general statement dickwad. :D

IE. Barnsley 2-1 Liverpool

haha... it's one of those days.

personally... if I had to pick a USL team to be 'my USL team',
it would be Charleston. Why? Come find out next spring training!
