Maybe an option for those who don't subscribe to Gol TV or who can't find another way to watch TFC?

I was kind of expecting this considering they did it last year and USL as committed to doing the same this year. Good stuff, i suppose i'll check up on Edmonton here and there.

Anyone watching FC Edmonton Vs FC Tampa Bay?

Probably not! Anyway,0-0 at halftime. Edmonton TOTALLY plays a dutch system, lots of ball movement and attack.(It's NASL so the technique and work effort are shit, but their ball movement and possession is very good).

Both keepers have stood on their heads, or it's be 2-2

I am. Started a thread in the Canadian Football Section.

Impressed with Edmonton. I think they deserve to be winning so far. Surprenant looks decent.

I watched the Fort Lauderdale Strikers vs. FC Edmonton match. The atmosphere in the stadium was better than I expected and there were about 6400 FLS FC fans who showed up. The game was much better than the feed, but I give NASL credit for implementing the initiative. It was roughly the same quality as the broadcasts from the Carolina Challenge Cup. They had one man doing the commentary, and you could tell that he didn't have experience calling football matches. His lack of familiarity with FC Edmonton players kept him focused on describing play only which was nice. The replays with slow-motion audio were ill-timed, but funny. Hopefully improvement of broadcasts will be noticeable over the coarse of the season.

From what I had been hearing, I had some low expectations for FC Edmonton. Benjamin Massey wrote a quality briefing on the state of FC Edmonton before the start of the NASL season that I found both interesting and helpful:

I was pleasantly surprised by FCE's performance. They were organized and disciplined. I found it interesting that coach Harry Sinkgraven is employing the 4-3-3. FCE's defenders were passing the ball around and looked comfortable. FCE didn't resort to relying exclusively on the long-ball. I'd agree that Suprenant had a good game. Hamilton and Oppong played well together as the center backs. Rein Baart was very solid. Saiko caught the FL keeper of guard with his goal and the Antoniuk substitution turned out to be a well thought out decision as his goal was timely and well taken. Eddy Sidra even saw some time on the pitch as a late substitution. Not a bad opening match for the franchise at all.

Speaking of Edmonton, is there a thread somewhere about the game on the 27th and whose going? I am gonna be in town that day and will be getting tickets, want to make sure I am in the right section.

I think it's general admission. We can't organize anything on here for non-members I believe (legal issues) but if you call the FCE FO, they can explain what's going on. Haven't purchased my ticket yet but will very soon.

I would advise you to call and ask for a TFC supporters section, although I think it's general admission, so we'll probably all end up congregating where we want to. But we'll see. There's gonna be a lot of empty seats at Commonwealth stadium, so I'm not really all too concerned.

I am driving up so I will call the box office and see if there's any supporters seats, the stadium hold something like 60 thousand so we should have no problems finding a seat.
