The what's up with De Ro article is inflamatory, irresponsible journalism.

He tries to connect De Ro grabbing the black banner at the end of the match to some form of protest.

I wasn't there yesterday, but wasn't that banner the one that honoured Flush' brother Rodrigo?

Couldn't the guy have found out what it was if he simply asked one RPB or one player that signed it?

Instead he does 0 fact checking and just interprets it as another controversy.

Steve Buffrey was the reporter. Shameful.

Thanks Parkdale. It's nice to wake up to positive headlines for a change.

I have a good feeling about the club this season. Although a lot of work still needs to be done, especially on the backline, the club seems to finally have a few legitimate scoring threats.

In years past, the achilles heel of this club has usually been an inability to score goals, or to rely exclusively on 1-2 players for the bulk of the offense. I don't think that will be an issue this year. I am very impressed with the quality of offensive players that Winter has brought to the organization. Martina, Stevanovic, Zavarise, and Yourassowsky will all bolster the attack this season, and seem to have more of an upside than many of the stiffs that have been signed over the last four years.

It's a long bumpy road ahead for certain, but as this team continues to improve, by the end of the season, I am confident that we will have a team worthy of our support.

Isn't the Sun a sponsor or the official paper of the team.

Team PR department should get a retraction or the the team should tell them to shove off.

Like that better.

I remember at the FIFA U-20, a group of Argentinian fans brought in a bunch of newspapers and sat quietly tearing them into confetti and loading up a garbage bag. Then when the game started, they threw handfuls of paper into the air and it really looked nice.

Rodrigo's name was on the big TV before the game and the banner was at the front of the march. If he likes to connect the dots, he could have figured it out. Shame on him.

That reporter just couldn't be bothered to go a bit deeper on the story and decided to sensationalize. Journalism in Canada is in the toilet. How an editor can run that piece just boggles. But yeah, the Sun.

It may be the official paper of the team (or MLSE entirely if I remember) but we should just do what Burke does, use the Sun only when you have a new puppy

Well I've watched the Martina goal six times now, it is a thing of beauty. I especially enjoy the shot where Winter responds to the goal by jumping up in the air. Last year I loved Gargan, sadly he is not adapting well to the Winter approach, it is too early to bring on Omhroy...I think this position may need a stop gap player until next year. Gargan can be a utlity bench player when we need him.

The occasional keystone cops defending suggests that I should enjoy this moment to the fullest. Another bit of realism is that Portland just don't look that promising. Interesting I think Vancouver will be the better expansion team, a few players on that team impressed I can't say the same for Portland.

The SUN is a rag , uses inflammatory comments and editorials about evreything in this city. It is successful in convincing Torontonians that their city is going to hell in a handbasket etc .... better to ignore or embrace whatever your fancy.

Maybe the 'reporter' should take a look at this:

The reason Dero wasn't available for comment was that he was getting the entire team to sign the banner for the grief stricken family.

I am upset about that article. DeRo did something classy and showed respect, but this idiot of a reporter writes stuff like that.

The only way they will retract the article is if they get enough people emailing or calling them.

It's also the kind of thing that could get a player to say "f&ck this town! I've had enough."
