12-Page TFC Info Pullout in todays Toronto Sun

Includes roster pics and info, tv calendar - and yes - all other games will be on GolTV -- great national coverage - epic fail!

That is an epic fail for sure when you consider the Whitecaps got Sportnet as their regional partner. Now Sportsnet could do the games because they could put them on SN Pacific where in Ontario will all know what dominates SN Ontario, so I am sure that came into the equation.

So some of the players are asking the wisdom in having an event like this today considering how angry some fans are right now. I'd have to disagree.

at the moment, there are no players (in my opinion) who are in the cross-hairs of the average fan's anger. Garcia is gone, Mista is gone. Dero is working though his issues (scoring in Van sure helped). The rest of the players are kids that nobody knows. Mo's long gone too....

I can't see anyone treking down there just to be a prick to some kids who wern't even on the team last year.

last year they had the kick off event a couple of days or so after the fiasco at Real Salt Lake, probably the lowest point of preki's early months. Couldn't get any more of an angry time than that to hold it, but it went alright, people seemed friendly. Of course that one you had to pay $150 a head for, so that took away the crazies. I presume this one is free and open to anyone that wants to come along.

can't imagine it'd be a problem though, much easier to be angry and bile-spewing on a computer than it is in person.

I guess some of the players must have read the post game thread and are concerned about their security...:D

This. If anyone would get a hard time it would be the FO although it may be wise for Cann and DeRo to keep a low profile if they're there but I can't see anything happening.

Something tells me a pro-athlete would welcome the chance to meet an "internet warrior" in person, WITHOUT security present... :D

If Cann has anymore games, like the one he had in Vancouver, he'll quickly be the whipping boy for the fans.

I don't think anyone can blame Cann for his performance against Vancouver considering he was played out of position.

Twellman says TFC fans should be patient (http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/twellman-says-tfc-fans-should-be-patient)

Twellman said that the new management team should be given three years to prove what they can do.

It's probably best for Twellman to avoid involvement in this area. Some of these guys don't appear to have their ears to the ground.

Reds training at Cherry Beach today.
I'm sure they are thrilled about that, it's like -16 with the wind chill. And I'm sure frozen turf doesn't help either.

Good read. Twellman is bang on in his assessment, and he has very positive things to say about his experience with Paul Mariner as well as TFC supporters. He's ok in my books.

I can't say that I have anything against Twellman personally. I'll just add that MLS is soon to be a 19 team league with talk of more expansion on the way. Management shouldn't be viewing the landscape from the rearview mirror. Everyone can't win the championship. I has hoping for fewer promises and fewer demands from fans and an attitude shift where actions and performance would lead people to buy into management's vision. One should remember that not all fans are RPB members.

If you look at the Weather Network's hourly forecast they are saying -3 for 2pm on Saturday.

BTW, if anyone was in doubt regarding TFC's commitment to the new Academy complex, in today's 12 page TFC pullout section, the first article quotes Jim Brennan stating that the facility is coming next year. I can't post the link because I'm on my blackberry at the moment.

their hourly prediction conflicts with their main forecast, in that their high for the day on the main forecast is not found anywhere in the hourly -- for the whole day.

When I checked it did. They had a high of -1, which would occur at 4pm by their prediction.

Yeah there's some fuzzy logic in there.

I earn $6000 in a minute (playing roulette). Bill gates earns 6736 dollars a minute. I am poised to take over Bill Gates spot as one of the richest people in the world.

Fail.
